What is the difference between Unisom & Ambien?
I know that Ambien is a prescription and Unisom is not, but what are the actual differences? Which works better? Which has less side effects? Which has a high dosage? Etc.
Get Better Sleep And Find Natural Remedies To Cure Insomnia
I know that Ambien is a prescription and Unisom is not, but what are the actual differences? Which works better? Which has less side effects? Which has a high dosage? Etc.
Ive been taking over the counter sleeping pills off and on for a while.I started taking prescription sleeping pills last year for about a month and stopped because I would forget things. now Ive been on unisom for 6 months and im trying to get off.My memory is getting bad and I cant seem to think straight or concentrate now.Would I ever go back to normal once I stop completely and if so how long will it take?
I know that unisom is safe during pregnancy but I was wondering about extra strength unisom? I have the equate (walmart brand ) of unisom but it is the kind that is generic to the unisom extra strength liquid gels. I just want to make sure they are safe before I take one tonight.
I was given Ambien for my insomnia. I haven’t taken it yet. Does this pill make you wake up feeling all tired? I know that over the counter Unisom does, that’s why I’m asking. I was told it wouldn’t do that, but I’m curious of other peoples experiences with it. Thanks!
i cant sleep i lay awake in bed for hours when the rest of my family is sleeping so i end up taking unisom or something but ive been taking them for 3 years now should i just goto a doctor?
Sometimes I cannot sleep at night, but I have trouble waking up in the morning. I’ve been taking an over the counter sleeping pill (Unisom) at night. Then, in the mornings I take an Adderall to wake me up. I feel like Elvis. Am I hurting myself in the long run?
I’ve always wondered how sleeping pills actually make you go to sleep…either presciption types (ambien) or over-the-counter (unisom).
What happens to you when you take that pill?
I am now on three straight days without any sleep at all.. I have some unisom each one contains 50mg of dyphenhydramine..
well I have broken bones in my back.. one in the thoracic and 2 in the lumbar.
I have no money to simply see a doctor now so i can take something for the pain.
I can’t lay still long enough to sleep even if i take 200mg of that stuff..
I’ve tried marijuana that doesn’t help either..
I don’t care about it being legal or not to be honest.. I just want some relief.
what is something I can do to at-least make me sleep? That is the only way I don’t hurt is if I’m asleep.
I usually stay up to talk to my fiance but since he isn’t here I can’t fall back to sleep. I ran out of my sleep aid-unisom-and I would like to know if there is any way or anything that can make me fall asleep faster.
Im currently taking unisom or unison sleeping medicine is that okay?
I have always had difficulty sleeping. When I still had medical insurance, I was able to take Ambien, which was a tremendous help. Since going on disability and losing my insurance, I’ve been stuck trying to cope with my insomnia symptoms on my own, and suffice it to say, I’m at my wits end.
I can’t seem to fall asleep before 7am or 8am, and I tend to sleep only around 3 hours. I’m left completely listless, with no energy to get anything done during the day.
The things I’ve tried thus far are:
Herbal tea: chamomile, sleepytime, catnip – no help.
Melatonin: only succeeded in giving me bad headaches
Valerian & Lemon Balm: most recent attempt, no results as of yet
St. John’s Wort: No effect.
Meditation: Relaxing, sure, but I still don’t sleep.
Reducing my caffeine intake: No effect
Not eating past a certain time: No effect
Getting more exercise, sunlight, etc.: Made me more tired, but didn’t help me fall asleep any.
Followed all the "sleep hygiene" rules they give you about noise, room temperature, etc.
I’m at my wits end at this point, and it seems my only option is to force myself awake til I pass out from sheer exhaustion. If anyone has any suggestions on something I haven’t tried, I’d be willing to have a listen.
It sucks knowing there’s a medication out there that can help, and having no access to it.
Figures, I forgot to mention OTC sleep meds, yes I’ve tried Unisom, and the other over the counter sleep meds as well – both the diphenhydramine ones and the non-diphenhydramine ones. Sorry, I’ve had a spliting headache for about 5 days now from this.
I’m bipolar, and my insomnia is attributed to my bipolar disorder.
Tried sex, tried baths, tried showers, tried aromatherapy. No effect.
Me and my mom are having a debate about if it’s possible to overdose on over the counter sleeping pills. Is it possible to overdose on something like Unisom or other kinds of sleeping pills you buy at Rite Aid? Or did he use prescribed pills?…That is if he did it. Don’t mean to offend anyone and it is really disappointing as he was an awesome actor.
A couple of nights ago I took three Unisom sleep aid tablets, but the directions said to take just one. I didn’t think one would be enough and it was my first time taking Unisom. For the past two days I have been sleeping for 14 hours each night and feeling a little drowsy throughout the day. How long should it be until I am regular again and not so tired? I took it on 5/5/09
