How to sleep better at night?




I’m having trouble sleeping at night, like I usually get to sleep at 2-4am and wake up at 8am. This is giving me pimples and I really need some advice on how to get a good nights sleep

Do I have a sleep disorder?




I have trouble sleeping and I’m not sure why. I fall asleep, but it takes me up to two hours some nights, even when I’m very tired. Although I am falling asleep, I don’t feel at all rested when I wake up. Also, I can’t sleep in past 8:30 AM. It seems like maybe I’m not getting through a full sleep cycle therefore not getting to the later stages. Is this a sleep disorder and is there anything I can do to get some quality sleep?

I’ve been having trouble sleeping and i was wondering if there’s any good non prescribed sleeping pills i can buy at a local pharmacy store. I’m 16, exercise regularly. Not a lot of caffeine intake.

What are some good ways to sleep better at night?




I have the worst trouble sleeping at night. I toss and turn for hours before finally falling asleep. have any good ideas to help me? I’m 15 so… make sure your ideas go with my age. Thanks.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping and was wondering if I could not only take valerian root but also melatonin at the same time?? Would this be safe? Or should I just take the valerian root?? Insomnia is starting to hamper my days. I’ve tried the prescrip. meds. and I don’t like the way they make me feel.

Is melatonin a safe natural sleep aid?




I have trouble sleeping at night and was told that melatonin was a good sleep aid. But to only take the 3mg doses. I saw some 200mg doses in the store the other day and was wondering if higher doses are addictive.

I have trouble sleeping at night, and was considering taking the dietary sopplement Melatonin to help me get sleepy, but still be able to wake up in the morning with no trouble.

I’ve always had trouble sleeping and at times it can start to affect my life. I don’t really want to go to the doctor and start taking sleeping pills but I was wondering what kinds of side effects people experience (besides the ones listed) with different sleeping pills… Specifically, do they mess up your metabolism because they help you sleep?

I’m a tosser and have trouble sleeping.. when I take Advil PM (or tylenol PM.. barely different) I find that I sleep really well! But I have sore shoulder the day after and I’m guessing it is because I don’t toss and change positions as I would without the medication.

Anyone else experience this?

(I’m just getting a general reaction in the area of pain/discomfort in the morning, not looking for sleep aid advice)

Treating sleep disorders due to head trauma?




In 2006 I had a car accident and had trauma to the left side of my head in the area right above where my ear is. I had a hairline fracture in my skull. I had a cat scan done and there was no brain injury sustained. Since my injury I’ve been experiencing fatigue throughout the day and trouble sleeping. Before the accident I use to sleep well with no problems and would wake up the next morning with energy all day. Now I wake up a few times during the night and only get about 5 hours of sleep, once I’m awake I cannot go back to sleep. I’ve been doing some research online and it seems quite common for people to suffer from sleep disorders after experiencing head trauma. Therefore, I believe my fatigue and various other symptoms that I use to never experience before the accident, one being irritability, is due to not getting enough sleep at night. With the research I have conducted, I have come to the conclusion that I have two options: Number one is to treat myself with time released melatonin (I believe my circadian sleep rhythms may have been disrupted), or number two going to see a sleep specialist/or maybe a neurologist instead?

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

I have trouble sleeping but I don’t want to take any sleeping pills. I think I have tried everything to try to go 2 sleep but they don’t work. I’ve been going a while on just a couple of hours of sleep in the morning. I usually can’t fall asleep until about 6 am. I’m stuck. Any advice would be fine.

What can my husband do to get better sleep?




My husband has ADHD and has trouble sleeping. He takes melatonin because we prefer to stay away from the narcotic sleeping pills. This does seem to be helping him sleep better but he says he still does not wake up feeling refreshed or it’s as if he didn’t even sleep at all. What else can he do to get better rest?
Actually…lol…he smokes all the time. That does help, but not enough. Maybe more? hahaha. Can’t get enough I guess.

i have always had trouble sleeping but it is even worse now that i am trying to get clean. the lack of sleep is making it very hard for me to stay clean and it is very frustrating!! i know doctors dont like to give people like me sleep aids but i fear if i dont get something to help me i am going to falter. if anyone knows of a non-habit forming sleep aid i would love to know about it. nothing seems to work!

I have bipolar, although it’s mild I think. I frequently go back and forth between depressed and normal. I also have obstructive sleep apnea and have always had trouble sleeping. I’m having my tonsils out in 3 months to correct the problem. Will alleviating the apnea help stabilize my moods as well?
