I’m 21 and as long as I can remember i’ve had sleeping problems. My mom said at age 3-4 she would find me cleaning my room at 2 or 3am. I usually go to bed around 10, just after my daughter and lay awake for hours. In the morning i am extremely tired, then at 4 or 5pm i feel like i NEED to sleep. Lately i’ve had alot on my mind (flashbacks to being raped by my brother from age 7-11). In the last 5 years or so, i’ve tried sleeping pills, chamomile tea before bed, vigorous exercise during the day, nighttime yoga, breathing exercises, and i do not drink anything besides OJ, milk and water. Does anyone know what I could do besides going to my doc? I’m already on pills for my anxiety, but i feel this may be the cause of everything.

What would happen if you had 300-400 mg of caffeine all day, but drink maybe Hops tea or Lavender tea to relax you to sleep? Will it work, or is the caffeine too strong?

I’m 14 and get really bad anxiety sometimes. I bought some Valerian Root tablets (you can also cut them in half and drink it as tea) and I was just wondering if it’s okay for me to take them. It says it’s not intended for people under 18, but what harm will it do if I take them? Does it have any side effects? Can I take one in the day when I get anxiety? Thanks!

I have become increasingly sensitive to caffeine. I still need that little "boost" in the morning though. I also enjoy a nice warm beverage, such as tea before bed, but I have to be careful how much caffeine it has, because it will affect my sleep. I’m looking for something with the least amount of chemicals or radiated decaffeinated teas. Any suggestions?

I want to make a homemade tea for insomnia. I know that valerian, lavender, and kavakava, are all good herbs to aid in sleep. Is there a recipe out there that combines these with other things together that tastes well?

What are some foods or non alcoholic drinks that can make you sleepy or sleep well?
Hopefully healthy and non fattening.
doesn’t tea keep you awake?

My mama claims she used it on my brother and I when we were babies to help with all sorts of things. I mentioned to her that my son who is 5 1/2 months is teething really bad and just will not sleep recently. She suggested the tea, I’m however a little leery of herbal remedies so I wanted to see what everyone elses take on it was. Thanks!

I am sleeping very poorly and I wake up often. I have only taken sleeping pills once and found they didn’t help. Lunesta is new.
I just want to go to bed and sleep and it doesn’t happen.I never use stuff like this and have tried everything from melatonin to valerian tea.
I am ,however, at the point where I don’t give a rats patootie how I get there.

I usually have 2-3 cups of coffee in the morning and a large glass of ice-tea in the afternoon. My doctor advised me to reduce my caffeine intake. I have been making 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular coffee (mix) but I’m getting headaches.
Any tips on how to reduce my caffeine intake?
What is a good cold drink to replace my afternoon ice-tea?
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I’m only 16, I’m tired all the time but I can’t sleep. My doctor prescribed rozerem 8 mg and I took one pill the last two nights and it didn’t work. Then last night I took 2 and it’s now 5:30 am and I’m still awake.
I’ve tried everything to fall asleep. I’ve listened to relaxation things, tried deep breathing, and I don’t like tea.
What can I do?
I’ve tried thinking of nothing, for a long, long time. lol
and watching movies and reading books used to put me to sleep but now they leave me wide awake.
The only time I fall asleep quickly (for me that’s about 30-45 min) is if I had a totally hard day at soccer and I’m wiped. But I really don’t want to have to exercise every time I want to sleep.
I can’t really go to school like this. So it’s a big problem.
I’ve been trying to go but I’m so tired that I feel sick and dizzy all the time and I can’t even speak right.
Maybe I just need better pills.
