<p>I&#8217;m only 12 and I only have 1 week left of summer vacation. And I&#8217;m well aware of what insomnia is.<br />
I&#8217;ve had it since I was 8 but it usually only happens during spring-summer. I fall asleep at about 3:30 &#8211; 4:00am. I&#8217;m worried that if I&#8217;m not cured soon it&#8217;ll mess with my grades in school! </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve tried reading books, listening to music, making my room as dark as possible, etc..etc&#8230; but  nothings working! Please Help!<br />
I&#8217;ve been trying to sleep earlier, like around 11:00pm, but I can&#8217;t do it. It hasn&#8217;t been that bad since it&#8217;s still summer and I can wake up at about 12:00pm, but once school starts again I&#8217;ll have to wake up at 7:00am. which is less than 5h of sleep!

<p>I know my sleeping habits are terrible and I want to fix them in order to focus better in school. I gained them over summer vacation and haven&#8217;t been able to get rid of them. They haven&#8217;t exactly affected my performance in school, but they have been interfering with my social life.</p>
<p>On school nights, I am usually asleep by around 2-3AM. I wake up at 6:00AM to get ready and go to school. When I get home from school, I usually start on homework or watch some TV, then fall asleep for a 3-hour nap. This 3-hour nap is what has been affecting my social life, because it occurs when my friends are all available.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve tried to fix it myself for a while, going to bed earlier and everything, but that just resulted in me fretting about what went on earlier that day or what will happen tomorrow.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t want to have to resort to using medication. I&#8217;m afraid I will get dependant on it and that will cause all sorts of problems.</p>
<p>Help?
