Im 16 years old and i have problems sleeping, i don;t sleep at night, i just don’t. It’s like im nocturnal or something. I go to bed around 4am, and i currently don’t go to school so i sleep the whole day untill like dinner time. I’ve been trying to change my sleeping habits but i just can’t fall asleep at like 10 or 11. Do you think it would be okay if i took an Over the counter sleeping pill around 9-11pm So i can sleep normally at night?

I’m fifteen years old and I can’t sleep just for one night, NOT every night. I’ve never took a sleeping pill b4. Would I sleep through the entire next day or something if I took like an advil or something like that?

She sleeps like 8-9pm to about 6-7am. I can’t get her to nap during the day. She gets grumpy but I don’t know what to do. I tried letting her sleep with me in my bed, in her playpen, and her crib. I’ve tried keeping the house really quite. She just won’t nap. Does she really need to? Oh she is 9 month old. Any ideas on how to get her to nap?

I know that there are two types of Melatonin out there. Natural, which they get from other animals. And synthetic. But, where do they get the synthetic from? And if it’s synthetic how can they still market it as a natural sleep aid? Thanks for the answers.

I read the newspaper saying that a lack of sleep can cause one to become overweight. How so?
How can dying from heart problems occur?

I have a prescription of tylenol 3′s for my broken ankle, and I have trouble sleeping at night, so I was wondering if i can take a melatonin sleeping pill to help get to sleep, or if it’s dangerous to take them together or something…

If someone were to stay up all night or get very little sleep and then do a lot a work the next day, is it possible for the lack of sleep to cause them to faint?

I’ve had insomnia for 5 months. I am currently on my 7th day of being awake, and have only had 4 hours real sleep in 10 and a half days. I know that I will have probably got some sort of REM sleep without realising.
But when do other insomniacs finally fall asleep? Last time I slept after my 8th day, its just that I don’t feel that bad today, so I am guessing I could go on for another 2 days or more.

For the past couple of weeks, I haven’t been able to sleep until 4am. So, last night, I decided to take melatonin. I noticed that it took about 2 hours for it to take effect. Is there anything I can eat or drink to speed up the effects? I thought that milk might do the trick, or eating something (only 100 calories or so), but that took two hours still.

A friend of mine has 2 little girls, ages 3 and 2. His wife, on a whim, decided to purchase a bunk bed for them. Myself, and several other friends, think the girls are too young to sleep on the top bunk, but the wife doesn’t want to put both of them together on the bottom. She wants them to sleep in their own beds. The bunk bed is not one that can be seperated as 2 seperate beds, so keeping the beds seperated until they are older is not an option. I was just curious as to what other people thought about this. Are the girls too young to have a bunk bed?

Unfortunatly my insurance is crap and won’t cover it and I can not afford to pay 0-0 for one. Does anybody know of a sleep study center here in San Antonio that works off of a sliding scale fee or will work with me as far as a payment plan is concerned??

We all know that saturated fatty, high caloric foods lead to gaining weight and heart problems. But I just don’t get how a lack of sleep leads to cardio(heart) risks.
I recently heard the news that a lack of sleep can be bad for one’s heart. What does it have to do with that? And how does it lead to gaining weight?

I’m going away with my friends soon, and my family tell me I make funny noises in my sleep and kinda snore. How can I make sure I won’t snore or make funny noises when I’m away?
