At the moment I do 11pm-7am. However I’d like the extra hour, and I’m also about to start a new voluntary job which involves travelling across London in the morning, so that extra hour would help me not to be in so much of a rush.

I wouldn’t be getting 7 hrs of sleep a night, since I rarely fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. It usually takes me about 30-60 mins. So some nights I’d only be getting 6 hrs of sleep. Would that be enough? I have read that the body actually copes better with 6 hrs than 8 hrs, because REM cycles last 90 mins, and therefore if your sleep time is divisible by 90 mins, your body will feel more rested because it won’t have been awoken in the middle of deep sleep. Is that true?

I been researching firefighter/ems sleep time. I ran into all of them saying the employer must provide adequate sleeping facilities. What is this requiring them to provide? Can anyone give me a answer or point me in the right direction?

The thing looks like a earphone but I forget the name. People wear it when sleeping to block outside sound and disturbance during sleep time.

I’ve tried pinching her nose, nudging her with my elbow, clapping really hard, throwing foam balls at her, shooting her with a water gun, kicking her lightly with my feet. It’s all temporary, she goes right back and starts again. What can I do? I’m losing important sleep time because of the noise.

An elite athlete that is with a full-time 9-5 job and with a family. I want to try and train for a triathlon, but I’m concerned that with a full time job, boyfriend, friends and family, I have to either cut into my social time or cut into my sleep time. What is optimal sleep time in order for the body to regenerate itself?

Thank you.
