He’s at home since he broke his leg (his doctor recommended). And he has been having sleep problems, he has a long leg cast, he has to be with it for the next week or maybe 2. We were giving him pain meds at night but doctor told us to stop giving these because he can’t be taking pills for a long time but now he can’t sleep well.
And another question, the doctor said that my son has to relearn to walk again when the cast is off, he won’t walk for a month. I think is better to exercise the leg to regain muscle strength. What do you think? Please answer which question do you know, I will be very grateful with your answers.

I recently started stacking some supplements for weight lifting. I added AMINO 2222 BCAA’s, ZMA, pH buffered Kre-Alkalyn, and GNC’s Mega Men Sport Vitapak to the protein that I was already taking. I know that the vitapak contains two energy boosters that contain a lot of caffeine so I take them early in the morning. I lift after work everyday, around 6 PM. The two times that I have taken kre-alkalyn (1500 mg) were right around this time. When I went to bed I started feeling heart palpitations and was unable to fall asleep until around 1 AM (I normally go to bed around 11 PM). I have found no research that links kre-alkalyn to sleeplessness unless it is the EFX Kre-Alkalyn PRO that contains the ingredient, kre-alkaloid. Has anyone else experienced sleep problems from taking kre-alkalyn later at night? I would greatly appreciate anybody’s input. I do not want to keep sacrificing nights of sleep to test whether Kre-Alkalyn is causing this.

Sidenote: The second time that I tried the kre-alkalyne, I did not consume any of the vitamins in the vitapak to make sure that the energy boosters and any of the other vitamins were not causing the sleeplessness.
Another sidenote: The two nights I tried kre-alkalyn were not consecutive. I did not take it on Tuesday night and slept fine. All of the other supplements in my stack were taken Tuesday.

I’ve have terrible, drug-resistant insomnia for over thirteen years, and am now at the point of being on disability because of the toll my chronic sleep problems have taken on my body and mind. Of course, I’m seeing a therapist regularly and always trying every new remedy anyone wants me to try, but what more can I do? What vitamins and minerals am I likely to have in short supply, or what should I take to ward off more ill effects from lack of sleep?

I’m 14 years old, and I’m a girl. and I’ve been having sleep problems, well I don’t know if they are problems.
When I’m lying in bed (I’m not asleep) I can see and hear people around me, those people are my friends, they aren’t really there though, nobody is. I get paranoid, like i hide under my covers and I don’t want them too see me. I sit up and think to myself, "They aren’t even there!" but I still carry on to see and hear them. After waving my arm about. I don’t know if this is normal, I don’t want any mean comments saying I’m a physco, I just want some advice or diagnosis.
Btw, this year has been quite a crappy year for me. I got into some trouble at the start of the year, and I broke up with my boyfriend of 6 months a few months ago, and I don’t think I’m over him. (6 months is quite long for a 14 year old haha)
I dont know if that will help.
Please help?
Minister guy, I said I was seeing my friends when I was in bed, I didn’t say I’m posessed by a demon..

We don’t seem to be able to solve our baby’s sleep problems and there is no decent sleep help available in Slovakia where we live.

Thanks!

Now~ he works 12+ hour shifts
I stay home with our 2 kids so I expect him to do nothing around the house.
I cook, clean, take care of the kids +3 dogs (the best I can.. I fail miserably with the dogs sometimes~ no chance to walk them).. I make his lunch or dinner for work depending on day or night shift.. I do laundry~

Anyways, I am and have been having sleep problems for the last couple years. Have a hard time falling asleep (this started after having our son who needed to be fed every 2 hours the entire first year).. so my sleep patterns are screwed up royally~

Our kids are becoming early risers.. I could handle even 7 am.. I struggle big time with getting them up in the morning if the sun hasn’t even made a sliver of appearance yet.. like today for example.. My son woke up at 4:30 am when my husband got up for work.

Kids are 2 and 4. 2 year old is still needing to be put back in bed maybe 3 times after he is put in bed (it’s an age thing and he is learning)

My husband wants to help so I can somehow sleep better and not feel so overwhelmed that I can’t sleep until I pass out from exhaustion at 1 am. He wants to help so I am not so overwhelmed (which I am stressed lately~)

He suggested a few chores around the house~ I don’t feel right with that. He busts his azz at work.

What is appropriate here? I appreciate him wanting to help I just feel bad asking him to do anything around the house~
Guy that is perfect~ I wouldn’t feel bad with that. doing night time baths and bedtime? Is that good?

My son is 17months old and has recently stopped sleeping throught the night. He doesnt seem to be growing or teething. He goes to sleep at 8-9 pm just fine only to wake up a few hours later sometime around 1 or 2 to cry he doesnt need anything but refuses to go back to sleep. He never used to have sleep problems. So how do I get him to go back to sleeping through the night?

I am having serious sleep problems and someone suggested sleep hygiene to me, but when I looked it up online it doesn’t seem plausible when you live in a dorm room, I mean I don’t even have room for a chair to sit on instead of my bed when doing things like watching tv. Does anyone have some good ideas?

Does prolonged co-sleeping cause sleep problems?

I’ve heard that when your child continues sleeping with you past a certain age it can cause sleep problems later on. I’ve heard about studies that apparently proved this? But I can’t seem to find any information about these so called studies. Does anyone know where to find them? Also does anyone have any personal experiences to relate?

Oh btw I do co-sleep occasionally with my 4 month old.
CJ, could you give me some references to the studies you’re talking about? An actual summary of the study that I could read?
nickelbabe, I did not sleep with my mom ever when I was a baby and I had a terrible fear of the dark until I was about 14. So we may as well say that NOT co sleeping causes fear of the dark.

Sleep Problems!! x.x Please Help!!?

My sleep problems started when I was about 8…I would wake up in the middle of the night and couldn’t move my legs. I didn’t think too much of it, but I thought it was annoying because I usually had to pee…x.x Anyway, more recently I had what I think is a night terror…I was having a nightmare and I couldn’t move. As well, it felt like bugs were crawling up and down my arms and legs. About a week ago I had what I thought at the time was a night terror, but afterwards thought I was having a nightmare that I was having a night terror. Is that possible? Once I feel back asleep I couldn’t move and didn’t see anything…I just heard this evil sounding laughter in my ears. When I could move again I flipped out and prayed all night…

This isn’t too serious, is it? By the way, if it’s relevant at all I’m a 14-year-old girl and I’ve been a sleepwalker my whole life, as has my dad.

I am having sleep problems HELP!?

I am a 15 year old boy and i am always tired. I get a bout 7-8 hours of sleep just about every night. I go to on weekdays at about 11 o’clock and wake up at about 6 o’clock. I know i don’t have sleep apnea or sleep insomnia(i don’t wake up at night). I do have ADD (AD HD) , but i don’t think it is the cause of my sleep problems. I do take melatonin to fall asleep, other wise it takes me a while to fall asleep. I just need help because it is wearing me out. If you have any questions for me, ask me in your answer and i will add more details.
Thank you all in advance.

I've got sleep problems. Any help?

For the past few nights, I’ve been having sleep problems. I can get to sleep just fine, but I always wake up several time after that for periods of about half an hour. During those periods, I try to go back to sleep, but I seem to be thinking of a million different things. Then I wake up relatively early. I’d really like some help, since I’ve been getting daily headaches and bouts of nausea from lack of sleep. Is there any way to get to sleep and stay asleep that doesn’t involve taking sleeping pills?
