I noticed that I have been feeling really weak and really tired. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy, but it seems like that isn’t the cause, because the doctor gave me a sleep apnea machine and prescribe me with Provigil and Ive been using it everyday. It’s been like a year now and I still feel weak and my sleep was never refreshing. Could this be chronic fatigue syndrome or barrs empsom virus? Where do I go to get tested for CFS? I am sure that is the cause, because even with increase dosage of provigil I still feel really low energy…Any ideas?

I have recently got a pacemaker installed I was diagnosed with sleep apnea two years ago and found fit for duty for just the sleep apnea. I was told I will have to get another MEB done because of the pacemaker. My question is when they are considering a percentage from the Air Force will they consider both the pacemaker and the sleep apnea or just the pacemaker because they found it unfit for duty but found the sleep apnea fit for duty?

Ok so, this is kind of hard to explain maybe someone is having the same problem. Whenever im sleeping i wake up in the middle of the night with the sensation of wanting to swallow, just like a normal reflex. But for some reason I cant swallow so I start gasping for air, i dont really feel the sensation of choking just wanting to swallow and not being able to, so i start gasping. Would this be sleep apnea? I have heard sleep apnea is when you actually are not breathing at all.
Im wondering if i should go to the doctor or to a sleep center to see whats going on with me. Any suggestions?

I can’t afford a CPAP machine right now. Are there any other alternatives that help with sleep apnea? I’ve tried a dental device before, but it hurts my jaw and teeth too much. Surgery is also not an option right now due to the cost. Is there anything else that can be done? I’m trying to lose weight, so no need to tell me that, either.

My kid has a mild sleep apnea that is 5 episodes that lasts about 10 second in the hour on average. The ENT specialist is recommending a surgery to remove tonsils. My question : Is this absolutely required given it is a mind case(as I have been told)? Any side effect/longterm effect if I don’t get this done? Will this surgery absolutey cure the sleep apnea?
Thanks in advance for your kind advice.

I’ve been told I need to wear a little mask attached to a small machine for my sleep disorder. What are some ways to get rid of sleep apnea? I know one way is to lose weight. My goal is to lose at least 20 pounds.

I’ve always had a snoring problem since I was a kid. It may be sleep apnea, but whenever I find solutions, it always tells me to lose weight. My weight usually fluctuates between 130 and 140 pounds, but I also practice martial arts quite often, which may lead to some muscle weight. Some days my snoring is decent, but on some days, it can be so bad that it would wake up people sleeping in the same room.

70 year old, male with night cramps approximately 5 hours after falling asleep. He appears to have sleep apnea that is untreated at this time. Takes Prednisone, blood pressure medicine and Crestor. Could the sleep apnea contribute to the leg cramps?

I slept for seven hours at a sleep disorder clinic. The technician told me that I did not have sleep apnea. He did say, though, that I have NO REM CYCLES. How would having no REM sleep affect me? I have sleep attacks during which I am unable to control my need to lie down and sleep. My doctor wanted me tested for sleep apnea or narcolepsy. I cannot see my doctor until the end of May so I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what no REM cycles does to a person. Thank you.

My 15yr old granddaughter has sleep apnea and has been told she needs a cpap machine at night. Where do we get one? How much do they run and does SoonerCare pay for them or even help pay for them. Does she qualify for SSI having this condition? Her doctor says her situation is serious. We don’t know what to do. Any information on getting a machine and help paying for it would be appreciated. Can they be rented?

My partner was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. After witnessing all three of his seizures I’m pretty scared. He also has sleep apnea which is the main cause of his epilepsy. At this point, I’m too scared to sleep. Considering he had his seizures in his sleep and he always stops breathing and the twitching I’m so terrified. How do I cope with this. I haven’t slept in weeks. I know he gets annoyed with my constant worry so could someone please help me?
