What is sleep panic disorder?




well, if you have seen bedtime stories a guy in it has sleep panic disorder. I was wondering what it is, and if it is even real?? He wakes up, well i think he is sleeping, but he sits up and screams. I have been curious what it is ever since i ave seen the movie. If you could tell me what it is, that would be great.

My husband recently snoring loudly while he is sleeping. This causes me can’t sleep well during night time. Is there anybody call tell me how to solve and cure this snoring problem?

was asleep on the floor with her eyes kind of open, open enough so I could see… her eyes moving back and forth. She was completely asleep and in REM sleep. Do dogs dream? What can they be dreaming of?

Sleep Problems?




I have chronic sleep problems (over 10 years). I have extreme difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. I’m seeing a sleep specialist next week, but I’d appreciate some feedback on what to ask.

I had as sleep study done 10 years ago and was diagnosed with hypopnia (not apnea). CPAP seems to help, and is tolerable.

It’s hard to deal with the CPAP when you can’t fall asleep for hours, so I often fall asleep without it and it does little good.

I’ve been taking Ambien for 5 years, but it’s loosing effectiveness. Now it causes me to loose memory, and I’m getting up and doing things during the night with no memory.

I’ve gotten fed up with that side effect, and had my doctor switch me to Lunesta this week. It doesn’t have the knock-out punch of Ambien, but it seems like I’m still awake all night. I’m asleep at some level, but it sure feels like I’m awake.

I think all the Ambien does is make me forget I can’t sleep.

Any advice?
Hypopnia is where your breathing doesn’t stop, but it is shallow or slow. In my case it wasn’t impacting my blood oxygen saturation, but was waking my body enough that I rarely entered the "restful sleep" phase.

I’ve tried melatonin before, but it didn’t seem to help. Actually, I’ve read all sorts of books for answers or remedies, but nothing has been a magic bullet.

I’ve also had surgery to correct a deviated septum. That helped a little.

I think I’ve tried about everything. I’m hoping someone has some new cutting edge ideas. Right now I’m thinking of restricting myself to 4 hours of sleep a day. Maybe I just wasn’t meant to sleep a normal 7-8 hours.

How can i get better sleep without ear plugs?




My family makes a ridiculous amount of constant noise about 2 hours before i’m supposed to wake up. I’ve talked to them about it, but after a day or 2 they forget, and ive repeated this many times.

i tried ear plugs, but when i put them on, I can hear my own breathing and hear beat so loudly that it makes me feel like i’m suffocating.

What do i do?
The sleep machine might work, but i share a room with an asshole. fuck it, i think i’ll move into a dorm. my back has started to hurt since this happened.

Here's a poem. Insomnia!?




So many things run through my head
As I lay in this bed
Nothing, but thoughts glide through my mind
So I’m laying awake instead,

Wishing for some kind of sleep tonight
Some sign of little relief
No dreams come for me now
They leave me in my grief,

Thinking through the present and past
Hoping this spell won’t last
How many hours must I lay here awake
Before slumber can be casted,

Many hours are passing by
As I start to cry
Wondering if I’ll sleep tonight
Trying to figure out why,

Morning comes after long hours spent
Thoughts still moving, no slumber meant
Now it’s time to begin again
As I quietly stir from my bed…
This one is a little different to the ones I have written before, but this was wrote after a really bad sleep last night. So in a way this was a true story. Thanx for reading it!

Sleep problems??




for the past few months or so ive been having the worst sleeping problems

no matter what time i go to sleep i always seem to wake up around 6 am and it takes me so long to fall back asleep
and once i do i just wake up again
i cant fall asleep so really i havent been getting much sleep
but the thing is im sooo tired
sleeping pills DO NOT WORK

what is going on
what can i do
i need help!

i have to sleep in complete dark and it has to be REALLY quiet
but seeing its summer and we have no AC my windows HAVE to be open
no drugs nothing like that
im only 16

How can I sleep better?




Most nights I sleep 6-7 hours. I start school soon, and I really want to get better sleep so I can focus better. What can I do to make sure I sleep better? What times should I go to bed?

Sleeping??




I’m 20 years old and I have a sleeping problem. I can sleep a 13 hour night and I am still dead tired only a couple hours later, and I go back to sleep, i just can’t get enough. I always want to lay down and I can’t even get a job because of htis. I’m always tired. I take Celexa for anxiety, but that’s it. This has been going on for the past few months. I would go to the doctor but I don’t have insurance, so do you have any ideas?
I have been taking celexa forever, i’ve never had this, i’m sure it’s not from that

How can i get my husband to quit snoring?




I am already a light sleeper and he is always snoring when he sleeps.. its hard for me to go to sleep peacefully..what actually works to make him quit snoring?

Also, how do I learn the mental discipline to avoid the computer? My family needs it and it’s not possible to just get rid of it since I need it as well.

Doing these things seem to give me this magical energy that keeps me awake, like a second wind.

I haven’t had a good NIGHT (where I really sleep well at NIGHT) sleep in months. I have slept well during the day (which I would like to change to night), but NOT at night.

Sleeping pills?




I sleep fine normally, but when anything exciting is going on the next day… like most people it’s hard for me to fall asleep but the difference for me is i NEVER eventually fall asleep… i stay up all night no matter what i do……
i want a safe sleeping pill i can take only on certain occasions…. one that doesn’t make you sick or feel drunk or anything……

plus are there any other ways to make myself sleep without pills?

how to prevent insomnia?




is anyone know how to calm mind from unnessery thoughts? i have sleep problem for 2 years…therefore i can’t sleep properly.my doctor recommends to take some sleeping tablets…when i use them i can sleep otherwise i can’t sleep.from the internet i got an infrmation it says taking sleeping tables its not good its for only temparary relief also affects insommnia cycle, so i stoped talking them….still i have no way to solve this problem…i try to calm my self but i couldn’t
