What drug interactions occur when taking Rozerem & Trazadone?

My Dr. prescribed Rozerem for insomnia. He advised me to discontinue taking Trazadone. What would be the reason not to take both at the same time?
My doctor prescribed Rozerem, and it hasn’t done me a lick of good for my insomnia. I take the Rozerem at the same time every night (11PM) but sometimes I can’t fall asleep until 3-4AM.
If i can’t fall asleep by 3AM I end up taking a sleeping pill…
I am going to stop taking the rozerem and see my doctor in two weeks… but I was wondering what sort of harm I might have caused, if any
My father was taking one or the other sleeping pill and also drinking. falling, not remember, and mood changes happened. Once he parked the car into the garage and forgot to shut it off till the next day. The doctor did nothing to stop this. I called several times, this past 2 months. One night he fell once again and not knowning where he was. He also said he hit his head after getting him back to bed. He died that night and the doctor says he was old and had health problems. I do not believe this. This is not why he died. Taking Ambien CR or Rozerem is pretty powerful sleeping pills. And having a doctor who knows his patient is also a heavy drinker should have his license pulled. Has anyone dealt with either of those two sleeping pills? I need help. Thank You
I need trazodone and rozerem to sleep at night, like I should be doing now, but I also have a bad back where I occasionally need tramadol, can I safely take tramadol with these products I take for sleep?
I took rozerem last year sometime and I don’t remember having nightmares. I decided to give it another shot because the doctor said it can take at least 2 weeks for it to work. I actually had a sample left over and took one last week and didn’t get nightmares but the past two nights I have. I am on an anti-biotic and diflucan (I read on a site that diflucan can increase rozerem levels) and so I’m wondering if it is because of these medications. The nightmares were really bad. Really disturbing. Things like a house being on fire and my child (which I don’t have children) inside and I could hear him burning to death and the screams. It was terrible. I’ve never experienced such nightmares. Do you think this will go away eventually? Is this a common side effect with this med? I haven’t been able to find much information on rozerem. Any info and help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ive taken Rozerem with Klonopin and thats ok but i dont know how different xanax and klonopin are. And i cant contact my doctor for a couple weeks- theyre on vacation. I could ask the pharmacist but its 10 pm and im just looking for a quick fix for tonights insomnia/anxiety.
thanks.
I know it’s never a good idea to snort anything, but i have a friend who as of late has been doing this with rozerem alot. Im afraid that some night she’s going to do it when she’s alone, or do too much and something terrible is going to happen. But then again, it could have no affect at all. I mean, it’s only a prescription sleep aid.
I’m on the birth control pill (Yaz) and I just started taking the sleeping pill Rozerem and I was wondering if it makes birth control less effective, because I’m in a serious relationship and I really don’t want any kids, but I have a lot of trouble sleeping.
What do you think the characters in the Rozerem ad symbolize? I think Abe Lincoln represents status, the deep-sea diver represents adventure/conquest, and the beaver represents, well, sex, of course! LOL….What’s your interpretation?
I know it is not good to take any medication with alcohol but I have heard rozerem is safe to take and drink with (basically it wont kill you) is that true???
I was wondering if anyone has tryed the drug rozerem for sleep disorder… my doctor prescribed me 8 mg of it today and was wondering if anyone had positive effects and how long it took to take working.
I’ve tried everything! I’ve tried Benedryl, Unisom, Elavil, Trazodone, Remeron, Rozerem, melatonin, Zoloft, Lexapro, and even all the hygiene methods like: keeping the clock away from my view, regular bedtime routine by watching TV to relax then going to be almost always around 9-10 and getting up to go lay on the sofa whenever I wake up because I can never get back to sleep after I wake up after about 4-5 hours. I’ve even tried an SAD light to help regulate my body clock. Help!!
I do have a slight depression and it’s gotten loads better from the medication and I’ve been on it for over eight weeks now. However, whenever I do get some sleep it’s never refreshing. I’m only 24 and I never really worry about anything as I’m falling asleep. Soooo… anything else?
I’m only 16, I’m tired all the time but I can’t sleep. My doctor prescribed rozerem 8 mg and I took one pill the last two nights and it didn’t work. Then last night I took 2 and it’s now 5:30 am and I’m still awake.
I’ve tried everything to fall asleep. I’ve listened to relaxation things, tried deep breathing, and I don’t like tea.
What can I do?
I’ve tried thinking of nothing, for a long, long time. lol
and watching movies and reading books used to put me to sleep but now they leave me wide awake.
The only time I fall asleep quickly (for me that’s about 30-45 min) is if I had a totally hard day at soccer and I’m wiped. But I really don’t want to have to exercise every time I want to sleep. ![]()
I can’t really go to school like this. So it’s a big problem.
I’ve been trying to go but I’m so tired that I feel sick and dizzy all the time and I can’t even speak right.
Maybe I just need better pills.
doing a paper & cannot pinpoint how many others there, report is on Rozerem.
In Sept I weighed 140 lbs and went on Yaz (a new birth control pill that supposedly does not make you gain weight) because I have severe PMDD. In 2 months I gained 20 lbs, but on the bright side my PMDD symptoms have improved a lot.
At 160 lbs, I went on Zoloft and gained 10 lbs.
(I have social phobia, body dysmorphic disorder, and anxiety)
Then I switched to Lexapro, and gained yet another 10 lbs.
At 180 lbs, I was put on Effexor XR and my doctor told me it would help me lose weight. I gained 15 pounds.
I have been dealing with insomnia and have had no relief from any of the sleep medications out there (Ambien, Lunesta, Restoril, Rozerem, etc). My doctor prescribed me Remeron and it is the only thing to work. Sadly, it has caused me to gain another 20 lbs.
I AM SO DEPRESSED. I have gone from weighing 140 lbs before drugs, to 215 lbs, a total of 75 pounds in only 7 months and I am only 21! And, since I have BDD I can no longer go out in public because I am so ashamed.
The Zoloft caused the insomnia and to this day I cannot sleep without the Remeron, and I went off the Zoloft 5 months ago.
The Remeron causes me to be sluggish.I have no energy to even walk around. I need to get off of it. What can I take that will be sedating enough that will not cause me to gain weight, or will possibly help me lose weight?
I limit my food intake and the Effexor makes me not hungry so it’s not that I’m eating myself away. I can’t excerise due to health problems and the Remeron makes me so exhausted.
I’m going to see my doctor and discuss this with him. Any suggestions on antidepressants (possbily ones that cause sleepiness) that would help me to lose all of this weight? Anyone with a similar experience?
