I just took one Sudafed 12-hour sinus something or other tablet (pseudoephedrine HCI). Would it be ok to take Benadryl too?

I have a very bad cold and sore throat, and haven’t slept for two nights.

Could I take Actifed (contains: Tripolidine hydrochloride, Pseudoephedrine hydrchloride & lactose), paracetamol and some herbal sleeping pills together?

The sleeping pills only contain extracts of passionflower, hops and valerian.

The pseudoephedrine works wonders for my congestion at night but ironically it keeps me awake.

Is taking a sleep aid along with it safe? I would ask my doctor but I wont be seeing him again for a couple weeks.
By the way, I take pseudoephedrine because I do not have allergies, and it is the only thing that helps my congestion, which I only suffer at night when I lie down.
