Alright, I’m gonna try to hit on all the details that seem to be necessary.
None of the dreams repeat. They’re just scary or disturbing, and entirely random (making lucid dreaming harder because I get no clues). I do not watch horror movies, because they scare me and make the dreams worse. I don’t take any medications, aside from occasional over-the-counter allergy meds. I drink a cup of coffee after I wake up, then generally quit my caffeine intake for the day. I’m sixteen and healthy, I eat organic foods. I don’t drink, smoke, or do any other drugs. I’m a creative person, so I tend to run reverse hours. I’ll go to bed around 7 AM, wake up around 3 PM, feed the pets, have some coffee, talk with the parents for a while, watch a movie with them or something, then after they go to bed (usually between 12-3 AM), I’ll read or watch another movie to get my creativity flowing, then go upstairs and draw or write for a few hours. Occasionally I’ll start my day with a rehearsal for a play, but the schedule stays pretty much the same.
I heard a theory from an couple online that too much sunlight being present during REM cycles affected the dreams of the wife. While this seems like a logical explanation, I don’t want to abandon my schedule just yet because I don’t seem to draw anything at all when I don’t have several hours alone and I’ve just gotten over a year long bout of artists block. I’ve also heard that creative people have more of a tendency for nightmares.
I also let my youngest cat sleep with me. For a while, her sleeping in my room would result in better dreams, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Sorry about the novel, any information that anyone could give me would be fantastic. Thanks!
