Get Better Sleep And Find Natural Remedies To Cure Insomnia
I was wondering if you dont get often sleep over a period of time what are the effects of sleep deprivation?
I have been diagnosed with Fibro&Fatigue and am wondering if anyone else who has this has found foods that help or even foods that make the condition worse. I am trying to find out everything I can about this disease and what I can do to help the symptoms on my own. I am not a big fan of mediciations over a long period of time. Also, what are techniques you use to sleep better at night? Without medication I currently wake up feeling exhausted!
Apparently REM sleep lasts roughly 2 hours of the night, while the rest is NREM. I think i’m going to try the uberman sleep schedule soon and i’d like to know if there is any actual solid evidence of negative longterm effects to a polyphasic sleep schedule.
Everything i’ve read in regards to this has basically been people saying "well, that sounds crazy/stupid so you shouldn’t do it." But i’d like to know if there has been any actual studies in terms of brain scans etc. over a long period of time that come to the conclusion there are negative side effects. If there aren’t any physical/mental negative side effects (besides the initial transition period) then why do we need non-REM sleep to begin with? Is it something that we do just because humans are accustomed to it out of tradition, or is it something our body actually needs?
Is it a sign of going in to REM sleep too quickly if you often dream when only asleep for a short period of time? I’ve read it’s supposed to take 90 minutes to get to REM sleep, but I regularly dream when I’m asleep for 5 minutes and have rather long dreams if I take a 30 minute nap.
Like what happens if you don’t go through rem sleep for a long period of time?
I didn’t say sleep… i said REM, rapid eye movement.
Post links at least then plz
I have read that it also has seratonin reuptake inhibiting qualities and prozac was developed because of benadryl. So if your doctor tells you to take it for an extended period of time in order to sleep my question is does it boost seratonin levels? I would think it would to some degree.
what are the bad side effects for long term use?
Hi,
Has anyone else experienced drowsiness and difficulty waking whilst taking Seroquel 25mg doses? I’m wondering if there is a particular time to take it which works best or if the effects after wear off after a period of time (I’ve been taking it for about a week now for anxiety and sleep problems.)
No horror stories please, just want to hear from people who experienced drowsiness with the drug. Thank you.
My brother has been sleeping on air bed for about 6 years. He did in college, and now he has his own apartment and a job; he still sleeps on a air bed.
Are there any short term or long term complications on a person who sleeps on an air bed for a prolonged period of time?
If you can find a website on this matter, please post it here.
Thank you.
There are anecdotal reports of people committing suicide after taking Ambien for a period of time. Has anyone heard of such stories? Any research being done in this area?
From what I understand, since humans have a REM sleep cycle, we dream for a short period of time during the cycle. But, is it possible to completely skip the dreaming phase? I don’t mean just not being able to remember your dream in the morning, but actually not dreaming.
i am 26 years old and have had fibromyalgia since i was 14 (!! i know!)
i was initially diagnosed when i was 14, but was so young and naiive, i shrugged it off.
about a month ago, i thought i had double ear infections and my jaw was killing me. i was diagnosed with TMJ. i started wearing a night guard and the symptoms have subsided for the most part other than occasional clenching.
i suffer from almost daily migraine headaches, dibilitating trigger point pain, brain "fog", i have battled insomnia since i was a child, occasional depression, horrible "bathroom" issues, and most recently, constant back (spinal) pain. there is some history for you.
about 1.5 weeks after the whole TMJ issue, i started to have these awful knots in my back in the "common" fibro areas. i could feel them when i breathed and every masseuse cringed when they felt them. i got two massages within a week they were so bad. i got no relief.
then, one day about a week later, they subsided for the most part (thank god!)… but they were seeminly replaced with spinal pain! the pain shifts between my lower to mid to upper on a daily basis. my doctor has tried me on at least 12 medications since then, none work. my stomach does not tolerate medications well and i am either puking or no reaction to the meds. i get no relief from anything.
i have found that if i walk "too" long… like, an hour max… i start to cripple in pain. same if i sit too long.. yesterday i cleaned house for a long period of time (6 hours or so)… and once i was on the couch resting, i could not get up… it is the first time i couldnt get off the couch or from a resting position and i am scared..i have never had an injury nor any accidents. i sit at a desk 8 hours a day.
my question is this. my doctor has posed that i see a pain management specialist. i have had xrays that only showed spasms (this was when i had knots, not when the spinal pain started). i am scheduled for an mri to ensure there is no slipped disc or anything. the dr has brought up epidurals and spinal "blocks"…. i have never had either. the thought scares me like no other…
sorry so long, but i am so lost about all of this. i’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts about my symptoms and about the proposed treatment. i am open to everything. thank you so much.
fyi, they ARE referred to as trigger points. it seems they use both "trigger" and "tender" depending on what you read.

n the last 2 weeks I hear snoring noises while my 1.5 years old is breathing. This is happening only at the morning and usually after eating yogurt. I can hear snoring noises only for 20-25 minutes and then noise goes away. During this period of time she can’t talk loud, she just whispers. What could be the reason for those noises? I will get her to a doctor in few days, but was wondering is it something serious?

My son’s pediatrician said babies start sleeping through the night when are able to eat more in one feeding in order to keep them satisfied for a longer period of time. How old was your baby when they started sleeping through the night?
actually, food does have something to do with it. If a baby is hungry, he will wake up to eat. If he eats more in one feeding he will "last longer" through the night. My son only wakes up during the night to eat.
I notice when my dog goes into REM, but it is for such a short period of time. It’s probably only around 20 seconds. At least I think it’s REM because her eye and ear muscles twitch constantly along with some of her leg muscles. She wakes up easily from this though. How long is your dog in REM?
