Without thinking, I took some nyquil after breakfast. I have 2 more classes to get through today and Im soooo sleepy! I even drank a medium sized latte and it still didn’t work. How long will this last for? and Is there another way to fight off the drowsiness??? Ugh. Why did I have to take that???

How bad is getting high off "drowsiness"?




My friend was texting me last night about getting high on medicine that makes you drowsy. What he did, he said, was take a normal, recommended dose of NyQuil and fight off the drowsiness for a while. Then he started tripping. I was wondering: 1) Does this actually work? To me it seems like fighting off tiredness wouldn’t get you high. 2) How bad is this for you? He says he only does it once a week or less, but if it’s bad, I’d get him to stop somehow.

I’m doing a report on prescription/ O.T.C. drug overdosing. I was curious as to how much a person would have to take of either ambien nyquil, or the 2 combined to die. if they weighed about 150-200 and were healthy?

Sleep Problems?




I’m 19. I go to college and work from 5pm to midnight during the week, usually on the weekend too. I’ve noticed now that I haven’t been sleeping well at all, either. I usually can’t fall asleep now until 8am or later, and I have to be up by 2-3pm. Most nights I don’t get a good night sleep, either. I think I may have depression, so I’m thinking that could be what’s effecting this. I just haven’t been in to see a doctor yet. The past couple of days I’ve had to take something like Nyquil or some alcohol just to get tired so I could go to sleep. Could it just be depression, or maybe something else?

Insomnia advise please?




I’m a chronic insomniac and have been working with my DR. on the problem for the past 8 years. Any ideas on what can help. Here’s what hasn’t. Gave up caffine, bedroom used for sleeping only (no tv), regular exercise, routine bedtime rituals, not eating after a certain hour, hot bath 90 min before bed time. Making my bed the most comfortable place I know. Hypnosis (cured my smoking habit so I thought I’d try). Fan on in bedroom to drown out noises that could wake me up when I do fall asleep, aroma therapy, calming music, and reading books. OTC’s like including tylonol pm, and Nyquil. (works for a coupled days then doesn’t) RX such as Lunesta, Ambien and Rozerem (to mention a few) all with no results. The only thing that gives relief at all is Xanex, but it’s controlled and after 5 years on it, my tolerance is very high and it’s not working well anymore. Any suggestions? I need to get some sleep! **oh, and I forgot to mention all the herbal products I tried. Please help.
I asked the dr about a sleep study, but she says it’s not sleep apnea, so it wouldn’t help. I asked for other benzos and she says I’ll have the same tolerance. I’m on both an antidepressant and an antihistamine, neither of which helped. Some great answers though. As for the pot, if it could be prescribed I absolutely would try, but at this time, it’d cost me my career. We have manditory testing at my job. Oh yeah, I’ve done the graveyard shift too. Same issue only worse. I know it seems I have an answer for almost anything, but keep trying please. 8 years is far too many and I’m fed up. Thanks so much!!

Do gas stations sell sleep aids of any kind?




I have to get up at 5:45 AM tomorrow morning and I woke up at 11:00 AM this morning so obviously I’m going to need something to knock me out and put me to sleep. I have to ride a bike, because I don’t have a car, so the closest place is a gas station, and I want to know if anyone knows if a gas station normally sells NyQuil or any other kind of sleep aid? It’s a Presto, a rather large station.

How can I go to sleep without using sleep aids?




For the last year, I have used Tylenol PM and Nyquil to help me go to sleep and I am trying to refrain from using sleep aids to go to sleep now. The only problem is that my body is having a hard time getting back to sleep without using some sleep aid. I know that it is not healthy to abuse the over-the-counter products but I just simply do not know how to train my body to go to sleep naturally now. Does anyone here have advice to give regarding this? Thank you!

I’ve always wondered why someone would drink gross Nyquil, when you can buy over the counter sleep aids just about anywhere. I know this is a weird question, but hey it’s not like no ones asked a weird question here before…
