are there any ways of getting rid of drowsiness?

I take medicine on a daily basis, and during the night time, one of the side effects I have to put up with are drowsiness. I sometimes work during the night so it is hard to work when I am drowsy. Are there any ways of getting rid of drowsiness at all?

Now~ he works 12+ hour shifts
I stay home with our 2 kids so I expect him to do nothing around the house.
I cook, clean, take care of the kids +3 dogs (the best I can.. I fail miserably with the dogs sometimes~ no chance to walk them).. I make his lunch or dinner for work depending on day or night shift.. I do laundry~

Anyways, I am and have been having sleep problems for the last couple years. Have a hard time falling asleep (this started after having our son who needed to be fed every 2 hours the entire first year).. so my sleep patterns are screwed up royally~

Our kids are becoming early risers.. I could handle even 7 am.. I struggle big time with getting them up in the morning if the sun hasn’t even made a sliver of appearance yet.. like today for example.. My son woke up at 4:30 am when my husband got up for work.

Kids are 2 and 4. 2 year old is still needing to be put back in bed maybe 3 times after he is put in bed (it’s an age thing and he is learning)

My husband wants to help so I can somehow sleep better and not feel so overwhelmed that I can’t sleep until I pass out from exhaustion at 1 am. He wants to help so I am not so overwhelmed (which I am stressed lately~)

He suggested a few chores around the house~ I don’t feel right with that. He busts his azz at work.

What is appropriate here? I appreciate him wanting to help I just feel bad asking him to do anything around the house~
Guy that is perfect~ I wouldn’t feel bad with that. doing night time baths and bedtime? Is that good?

Last week I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. As I cannot afford to a CPAP machine, I am still considering about the purchase. If I use one during night time, can I sleep at least 30 mins. during the day time without it?

Am I waking up in REM or what is going on?

For the past two days whether night time sleeping or short naps, I keep waking up but not being able to see because my eyes feel like they are twitching and rolling around erratically and painfully. This seems to happen for a good minute before I can see, then I become physically ill from the whole thing. I am becoming afraid to go to sleep because waking up has become frightening to say the least. Anyone know what is happening to me?

This may sound silly but my body rejects sleeping 8 hours a night. & not only that but I’m in a long distance relationship so it’s really hard to talk to e/o unless it’s at night time. But I get really tired & take a nap & then I feel better. Please let me know if this is silly or should I just stick to 8 hours?

Why do I have sleeping problems laying down?

Every night i try to sleep and it takes me a while to fall asleep. Sometimes in the night time i wake up. In the mornings i feel like a zombie and can’t do anything, but sometimes when i am in school i can fall asleep with no problem when I am sitting upright in my desk or when i am on a couch just sitting on it instead of laying down. Why is this happening? i just want to sleep normally

How do I sleep better in a tent?

I am spending the night in a tent tomorrow and need some advice on how to go about this. I have not been able to sleep in tents before, at midnight I always head inside the house. I am going to take some night time tylenol, but this doesn’t usually help. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Could i have a sleep disorder?

Ever since I was even a baby, I have had quite some trouble with sleep. My mother says that it’s because I was born at midnight. Anywho, here is my situation..
I can’t sleep at night. I don’t know why. I feel tired, but I still can’t go to sleep. If i go to sleep at 10pm, I’ll roll around for an hour. If i go to sleep at 3AM, I’ll fall asleep about 15 minutes later.
This is how i have always been. Even as a little girl, i was always able to pull all-nighters. It feels as if my body was made to stay up all night and sleep all day.
Hence, right now, it is 2:21 AM. I’m not that tired. This is early to me.
What in the world is wrong with me?
Is it possible that i was BORN with a sleeping disorder?
i have tried to get into a variety of different sleeping habits but they all never work. I can’t help but stay up late. I love the night time.
:/

I ask because I have a DD who will be 8 mo in 5 days. And for the past 2-3 weeks she has been fighting me tooth and nail everyday about naps. Up until then she was taking 45-60 mins nap anywhere between 8:45am & 9:30am. Then she would take an afternoon nap between 1:30pm-2:30pm for 2hours. Now she might sleep 30-45 mins in the morning and if Iam lucky 30-45 mins in the afternoon. The problem is she wakes up and she is still so tried and sometimes fussy and cranky. Though she is still sleeping through the night with no wake ups from 7pm-6:30am. But I fear the bad day time sleep will start to effect night time sleep(she has waken 3 nights in a row in the late evening this week). I have tried putting her in her crib and letting her CIO but she can go forever and not stop(the longest was 90 mins with 20 min check-ins). She is very strong willed for someone so young. Any tips or advice is great. Thanks

Is this a sleep disorder?

Ill try to explain it the best i can, and thanks ahead of time if you shed some light on this. At the moment i cant afford a doctors visit so this will have to do.

My current sleeping schedule is whenever i wake up to 5am. No matter how early i wake up or how much little sleep i get, i always dont feel tired till 5am. It gets later and later as days go on (started at around 2am). Its been like this for months. I miss the days were i can wake up at 8am and eat breakfast with my wife.

So for example, if i only get like 5 hours of sleep, ill be really tired throughout the day till around 8-9pm then i wont even be tired anymore. This has been a problem. I wake up early and struggle to stay up during the day so when night time comes i can sleep but i always make it to 5am. Its always the same time i fell asleep lastnight (or a bit later by a few minutes).

Me and my wife think it may be just me having way to much energy left over so theirs no real reason to be tired. My usual routine is wake up, eat, work, relax and play comp games till i feel tired enough to sleep. It could be it… but then when i do feel tired, ill lay down and try to sleep for like an hour. I can never just lay down and sleep.. Even when i get comfortable, i notice that the tired sleepy feeling goes away and im pretty sure if i got out of bed i could stay up for another few hours.

Its insane, me and my wife had the same sleeping schedule till this happened.. i dont even know what caused it. Its so fustrating.. So what do you think? Sleep disorder? too much energy?

Im debating on sleeping pills.. usually they dont work on me but its been awhile so it may help. I just want to feel real sleepy around 10-12 so i can wake up like i used to. All answers point to me working out alot, tried it.. and it has failed, still manage to stay up.

She goes to sleep around 10 then wakes up to eat at 1 or 2 in the morning. Sometimes she wakes up again at 5 ; thats when I put her in bed with me since my husband gets up for work at that time. She doesn’t fall back to sleep until 6 sometimes then she wakes up at 8 to start the day. I’m worried she isn’t getting enough sleep. What should I do? Do those night time lotions and bathwash really work?
