Am I hallucinating on account of my narcolepsy?

I’ve been narcoleptic for about a year now (I’m 15) and I’ve been taking Provigil for it. I was wondering if having narcolepsy is causing me to hallucinate because it never happened before I was diagnosed, but it did happen twice recently. Last week I kept seeing shadows creeping up on me out of the corner or my eye (which was scary >.<) and yesterday I was hearing whispers and stuff.

I have a friend who has a very mild case of Narcolepsy. I didn’t even know she had it until today. She wants to go and be an officer in any branch that’ll take her as a psychologist. She wants the military to pay for her schooling. I know the Navy has STA-21 and a few other programs. Can anyone help me with more info that I can give her?

There was a small segment on Narcolepsy within a larger British television production. It involved a ballerina, a young teenager, etc. Any ideas what this program may be called or where I can find it?

My 14 year old was diagnosed with narcolepsy and she was prescribed Provigil which I have severe concerns about in terms of side effects. I want to talk to someone her age who actually takes it to find out what the effects have been.

My neurologist said I may have narcolepsy, and when I went for a sleep test, the techs didn’t do the test for narcolepsy so I still don’t know if I have it or not. If I do have it, will I still be able to enlist into the Marines.

I noticed that I have been feeling really weak and really tired. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy, but it seems like that isn’t the cause, because the doctor gave me a sleep apnea machine and prescribe me with Provigil and Ive been using it everyday. It’s been like a year now and I still feel weak and my sleep was never refreshing. Could this be chronic fatigue syndrome or barrs empsom virus? Where do I go to get tested for CFS? I am sure that is the cause, because even with increase dosage of provigil I still feel really low energy…Any ideas?

I read that adderall is commonly prescribed for narcolepsy or ADHD. However, it is reported that daily dosage of more than 40mg is "rarely more effective" in comparision to a maximum of 40mg per day as a treatment for ADHD. So i am curious what are the indications adderall is prescribed for that requires a daily dosage of more than 40mg?

Like how is the process of protein synthesis different compared to people with narcolepsy and without narcolepsy?

what is the best cure for narcolepsy?

I’ve been suffering for quite some time from narcolepsy. I’ve noticed that the medications have made me more disabled rather than helping the situation. I am sure it is a systemic illness, and I am doing much better now, but any natural remedies or suggestions?

An odd array of symptoms. . .any advice?

It all seems to be related…

I get tired when I sit down. Quite often I fall asleep and can’t help it. (i.e. I get extremely tired when driving).
I can take a 20 minute nap and have a dream (which means I was in REM sleep which should take up to 5 hours to cycle into).
My muscles in my body are constantly twitching, almost like the twitching you get when you’re just on the verge of falling asleep.
I have night terrors if I can’t fall asleep right away at night.
I wake up 5 to 6 times a night usually, but will have dreams in between every time waking up.

I eat right, try my best to stay unstressed, don’t sleep too much at night, and don’t sleep too little. Any ideas? It has been suggested that I have mild narcolepsy.

What do you think?
If I were to get a sleep study. . .how do they work insurance wise?

Do insurance companies only pay for them if they find something wrong with me, or do they not cover them at all because they are a "study" and not a "diagnostic test"??

All my life I have had the ability to fall asleep (at night or when desired, not like narcolepsy) within minutes if not seconds. And I fall asleep, to REM sleep, without fully going through the cycle, it is deep sleep from the first second. Whether it is just being excessively tired or what, but lately it seems that at night I am working or reading at night in bed and suddenly, without even realizing, I fall asleep within maybe 5 seconds. What has become alarming is that I have been having a text messaging conversation with a person and from being fully awake and alert in one text message i have gone to sleep to the next text message. I really dont know how other way to explain this better. Is this something to be worried about? Is there any medical condition? Could it be a symptom for something else (aside from being tired)? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am suspect of sleep neurologists who keep pushing an apnea diagnosis as the problem (vs. narcolepsy, for example) even if a sleep study shows differently. It seems each dr. is located next door to CPAP machine rentals. I’m wondering if they are part owners or stock holders drumming up business. Just asking…
I’ve been to 3 drs. All said the same thing after stating the sleep tests only showed mild apnea. Sleep apnea is considered a sleep disorder and neurologists are usually the treating physician.
