Hi there, I’ve been struggling with stomach problems since about 1st grade.
I’m 14 now, and next year i’ll be a freshman in highschool.
When i was younger, the pain wasn’t bad at all.
In fact, my mom just though I was another kiddo with the common tummy ache.
As I got older, the pain worsened. I was put on previcad [sorry if the spelling is incorrect]
for about 2 years. It never worked for me. Then my doctor subscribed pepcid AC over the counter.
It worked for about a week and then the symptoms came back.
I had missed so much school in my 5th grade year, I got homeschooled in 6th grade.
Then in 7th, I attempted to go back to public school, and ended up missing 50 days of school.
I then am now in a private homeschooling, and everyday i’m sick as a dog.
I was diagnosed with mono, and my doctor scheduled me an appointment at Akron Childrens Hospital.
I went to this doctor, and lemme tell you. This guy, in my opinion, is a total quack.
He told me basically, that i’m a hypochondriac. And that I need to just get back into society and do something with my life.
He also discriminated on my homeschooling and then told me that nothing was wrong with me besides I had a case of ibs.
My mother and I stormed out of the office that day, and I refuse to go back to him.
From that day on, I’ve been to the doctors atleast once a week for my stomach.
I’m having horrible burning sensation. I was put on nexium 40mg to stop the pain, but after 3 months of taking it I ate constantly
and gained weight rapidly. With that I had horrible insomnia, light headed/dizziness, and nausea still.
It seems like I just can’t escape this. I went back to my doctor and he put me on prilosect 20 mg twice daily.
So far, my stomach is constantly burning and nauseated. The last two days, everything I have ate has went straight through me.
I get so nauseated I have to sit still or else I will puke and I put ice packs on my lower intestine to stop the pain.
The burning is usually located between my stomach and belly button.
It tends to move down into my intestines, lower by my ovaries.
I really need some relief. I’ve been on tons of medications, and I take nausea pills like they’re candy.
I’m afraid i’ll end up addicted, and then in the end i’ll have no relief. I’m constantly concerned about my health.
I eat a healthy well balanced diet, and I take dietary suppliments.
I just need some relief. Enough is enough. My doctor won’t listen to me. I’ve wanted him to scope my stomach and see if anythings
there, and he won’t. He’s only tested me for every parasite known to cause any damage. Besides that, he just keeps throwing medication
at me. But something has to be wrong with me, or else I wouldn’t be feeling this way. I thought maybe you guys could help.
This is my first time ever posting anything, so i’m sorry if I threw out useless information or made it a novel.
I’m desperate for answers or relief.
