I did some research about it, and I have the following signs:

Difficulty falling asleep
Difficulty with memory
Poor concentration & focus
Waking up during the night, many times(sometimes every hour or so)
Very tired throughout the day
I take naps when I get home from school
I sometimes am not able to fall asleep for a long time(I will be up at 6 in the morning and not be able to fall asleep until 2-5 in the morning the next day, if that makes sense)
And I am very irritable

I’m 16, by the way.
Are there any other symptoms and do you think I have it? I think I do, and am going to have my mom take me to the doctor soon.

I am doing a science project on mental and physical effects of sleep deprivation and i need to know this. Also im testing people on their memory, math skills, reading comprehension, and for physical im not sure what im doing yet but of anyone could find or make tests on these subjects i will love u forever and ever plz help me. Also im in 8th grade so the tests need to be on a 8th grade level.

Can depression cause insomnia and memory loss?

I’m seeing a therapist for my depression and am not on any medication but I’ve been getting insomnia and wondering how that could be related to depression. Also I’ve been losing my memory pretty badly to the point I wonder if I should see a neurologist, it’s kinda scary considering I"m relatively young and so am wondering if that could be related to depression though it wouldn’t seem like it. Why would I forget things if I’m not happy, ya know. Any ideas?

Ive been taking over the counter sleeping pills off and on for a while.I started taking prescription sleeping pills last year for about a month and stopped because I would forget things. now Ive been on unisom for 6 months and im trying to get off.My memory is getting bad and I cant seem to think straight or concentrate now.Would I ever go back to normal once I stop completely and if so how long will it take?

My friends in the hopsital for overdoing on Ambien and put himself into a short coma because his body is healing himself, I’m just wondering how long will he be in the hospital for after taking Ambien, What will happen to him when he wakes up? Will he remember what happened? Will he lose his memory? Please I need to know i’m really worryed with all these questions running through my head

Are you still an atheist when you are not consciously aware? Do you have to constantly think in your mind that you are an atheist? If a person is in a coma and can’t make the judgment of whether there is a God or not, still an atheist?

Unfortunately for you, I do read atheist answers. If you are unconscious you can’t think. That is why a person will lose their memory or not remember somethings when unconscious.
You can’t think of anything when you are asleep. Especially in a deep sleep.
I never discouraged an answer from this question. I am getting the responses that atheists give. I am not surprised by what atheists say or the matter at which they say it.

anyway in the 2nd stage you halluncinate, so are you still an atheist in the 2nd stage of sleep. are you only an atheist when you are awake. that is what i want to know.

If people say I am an atheist because "I know" that there is no God. Knowledge has to have thought. So if you are sleeping you are not thinking. I guess the same can apply to believers too.

Or does it all go back to normal. I mean if you have lots of memory lost and thinking issues during sleep deprivation but get it back under control, will the effects still haunt you long after? And you have had problems with this for years.

I have just been diagnosed by my sleep specialist after doing an overnight sleep study that I have Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome. He says that my daytime fatigue and sleepiness is due to the fact that I wake up multiple times a night because of my difficulty breathing (consciously and unconsciously). However, he told me that I did reach deep REM sleep and did dream. So I’m not entirely sure I understand why this makes me tired throughout the day. I understand there are five stages of sleep, so if I wake up during any of these stages, mainly the deep sleep stage, does that mean my sleep cycle starts over? Am I tired because I don’t spend an adequate (and constant) amount of time in deep sleep (restorative sleep)?

And what exactly is the difference between REM and NREM and which one gives restorative sleep?

What exactly causes the memory/cognitive impairment and difficulty in concentration?

My husband went to sleep using the medication and was pulled over 4 hours later in our car with no memory of getting out of bed or driving. He was issued a DUI.

I take 600mg of Seroquel and 1500mg of lithium each day for Bipolar Disorder. I’m tired of feeling like a zombie and my memory is shot. I just don’t like the way I feel anymore. My doctor says that this is the best drug combination for me. Any ideas anyone?

Is anyone having memory loss from using Ambien?




I use Ambien as needed, not everyday but Ive noticed my memory seems to be getting worse. I cant remember the day before sometimes and blocks of times are gone I just cannot remember anything. I have to use some sleep aid due to my insomnia but I am wondering if my memory is fading as a side effect. I am only 44 and have no head injuries.

sleep problems, anxiety, unclear thoughts…?




i have problems staying awake no matter how well i slept the night before or how much sleep i get. im almost always sleepy and can fall asleep anywhere at almost anytime that i want to. i dont have as much energy as i used to. i dont really feel like doing anything most of the time. my brain has the motivation but my body doesnt want to do it. i worry about every little thing. lately my thoughts are unclear and my memory isnt as good as it was a couple years ago. im only 19. what could this be? i was thinking depression but that doesnt explain my memory and thoughts. help anyone?

I am 13.

I show all the symptoms of depression ..
•insomnia (I can’t fall asleep till about 1am and that’s cause I force myself and tired all through day)
•unmotivated/hopeless
•major weight gain (more than 5% of my body weight in two weeks)
•I feel hopeless and confused
•difficulty focusing, making decisions, or following tasks
•my memory is weak
•start crying for no apparant reason and always sad with no reason
•mood swings .. though usually sad, I get spazz attacks out of nowhere, every so often for no reason
•feel as if im no good; feel guilty for no reason
•irritated (get frustrated over the smallest things like my mom telling me to take my bag upstairs)
•never wanna get out of bed
•thoughts about suicide have crossed my mind and i often linger around the fear of death or something bad happening to a family member
•loss of interest in going to parties, hanging with friends, waking up, shopping, everything!
•when I fight with my mom or sisters, and they’re hurting, I act like I’m not hurt too and I roll my eyes and am unsympathetic .. but deep down it’s only because I feel like nothing’s worth anything.

I’ve told my family but they are unsupportive, claiming it’s just teenage adoloscence and this phase will come to pass. I do go to a physcologist once a week though and she helps. She diagnosed me with minor depression. I never know what’s wrong. I just always feel a vibe. I brainstorm all day but always feel something missing. I go to a school which I couldn’t hate more, I am misunderstood and all I feel like doing is sleeping, eating and crying. EVERY DAY, I force myself to cry to feel relief. PLEASE HELP!!!
