I’ve developed this insomnia, which I’ve never had before from a needed medication. I have a week until I can get in to see my regular doctor and am wondering if you have any tips? I’ve tried all the natural ways, (no stimulation, no caffeine, no sugars) and went so far as to drink 2 glasses of wine after not drinking for 2 years, nothing has worked yet.
I have two children and am running off of almost no sleep every day… any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m trying to find a good strong herbal medication for insomnia for a friend. She’s on prescription tablets at the moment, but wants to go off them. Does anyone know of anything that works?

Do you guys think Benadryl is a good sleep aid medication for someone who can’t sleep or has trouble sleeping? Like me?

I have a shift at work tomorrow at 5am so I need to go to bed earlier, but I know that it will be hard for me to fall asleep because it’s going to mess up my sleeping routine. How can I get tired and actually fall asleep quicker? No medication please, only natural.

I was talking to my psychiatrist today about what dose of Lunesta I should be taking and I, at one point, mentioned a comment along the lines of, "I could always just cut them in half", to which he abruptly responded, "No, you can NOT do that." Why exactly is this? I’ve heard of other people cutting them in half? Does it effect the efficacy of the medication? How?

I’m seeing a therapist for my depression and am not on any medication but I’ve been getting insomnia and wondering how that could be related to depression. Also I’ve been losing my memory pretty badly to the point I wonder if I should see a neurologist, it’s kinda scary considering I"m relatively young and so am wondering if that could be related to depression though it wouldn’t seem like it. Why would I forget things if I’m not happy, ya know. Any ideas?

I’m a long term sufferer of depression and anxiety, and my condition hasn’t really responded well to medication (I am currently on fluoxetine). Lately, however, I’ve noticed I feel better whenever I have caffeine in my system (my anxiety has been cut in half). I don’t mind using caffeine as a short term solution, but I’m wondering about the long term effects on my body.

That’s like saying you won’t ever get a normal night’s sleep unless you drug yourself up with medication.
Healthy people have been sleeping like normal for millions of years and they’ve never needed medication for it, so doesn’t this just make you laugh and sort of shake your head disgust at the same time?

I may be way wrong but would taking pills when you’re so high up in the air have any ill-effects? I’m planning on sleeping through a long flight but I probably won’t be able to without any sleeping medication or whatever.
Thanks.

My question is are both these drugs the same? Do they have the same effect as I take Lunesta for panic attacks at night. Lunesta has a nice calming effect unlike other medication I have tried like Trazadone. If not are there other medications the work the same as Lunesta and have the same effects as it can be very costly.
