I was talking to my psychiatrist today about what dose of Lunesta I should be taking and I, at one point, mentioned a comment along the lines of, "I could always just cut them in half", to which he abruptly responded, "No, you can NOT do that." Why exactly is this? I’ve heard of other people cutting them in half? Does it effect the efficacy of the medication? How?

I was recently prescribed Lunesta as a sleeping aid, and I have noticed some off the wall side effects. Such as a metallic taste in my mouth, can’t drink anything sweet (apple juice, soda) and I get instantly sick in cars. As anyone had any luck with this medicine?
Allegic to Ambien and Seroquel makes me hallucinate

My question is are both these drugs the same? Do they have the same effect as I take Lunesta for panic attacks at night. Lunesta has a nice calming effect unlike other medication I have tried like Trazadone. If not are there other medications the work the same as Lunesta and have the same effects as it can be very costly.

Ambien, Sonata, Lunesta, pretty much anything you can name doesn’t work for me, but I’m prescribed Xanax and whenever I take it I sleep like a baby. Would any doctor prescribe Xanax as a sleep aid?

Have tried every OTC and natural remedies for several years. Time to go to DR for prescription. What about Lunesta? Any plus/minus about the drug?

Okay I have two big problems with my insomnia. It’s falling asleep, and staying asleep. The doc gave me some Rozerem samples and it didn’t help me that much. Which sleeping pills have helped you the most? I’ve been considering Ambien CR, but does it help you fall asleep quickly, along with helping you stay asleep? And does Lunesta have the same Short Term Amnesia side affects as Ambien?

My doctor gave me some 2 and 5 mg Abilify tablets to try but it completely slipped my mind to ask him if this would have any affect on my taking of Lunesta or vice versa. I take Lunesta every night, have been for about a month, and was just wondering if it is safe to take both? I assumed it was because he did not say it wasn’t, but I want to be sure and he is out of town now :-\

I was using Ambien to fall asleep, but now I hear wonderful reports about ROZEREM tablets, 8 mg. to fall asleep & Stay asleep. they say non-addictive. It costs /tablet. Please has anyone out there tried ROZEREM? How well does it perform? Any side-effects? I appreciate your responses.
Thank you Nursegirl – I just tried a Rozerem last night & am I angry! It never put me out to sleep, and I swear it simply made me feel dull all the next day. I’m going back to Ambien. it’s not perfect, but does give me some sleep. So would you say Lunesta is worth trying? Thanks for your input.

I take 25mg of paxil CR and I want to take a prescription sleep aid like lunesta because I have insomnia. The pharmacist said there is a slight interaction but to ask my doctor about it. I’ve tried OTC sleep aids like sominex and they don’t do anything. So, is it safe to take a sleep aid and paxil together?

Sanofi-Aventis, maker of Ambien followed suit not long after Lunesta came to the market. There is no such thing as a narcotic sleep aid.

Very shortly after I take the Lunesta, maybe 15 min., I get a bitter taste in the back of my throat. Like when you are taking a pill and it gets stuck and starts to disolve. YUK! But it doesn’t go away and drinking makes it worse.

My husband took lunesta for a week and has now been off of it for a week but sleeps all the time. He sleeps all evening and looks drugged all the time. Do sleep aids, such as Lunesta disquallify someone from an ROTC scholarship? It is used only when needed and not everyday.
