Does turkey really make you sleepy?

I heard that when you eat turkey that you get sleepy, because it has some kind of chemical in it that makes you want to sleep. Is this true? Because it’s after lunch, and I had a turkey sandwich, and I’m feelin like a nap!

He is taking his morning nap around 10am and will sleep either 1-2hours. Sometimes if he sleeps for one hour he will sleep again around 2pm. If he sleeps 11/2-2hours he will fight the second nap. He usually is in bed by 8 and sleeps till 6:30 or 7:00. How do you make the transition from one nap to two? Would like the one nap to be right after lunch.

i have GAD anxiety and IBD. can i take it in the day at lunch or something?
I took it before bed as directed but couldn’t sleep.for my anxiety. talked to pharmacist they said to have your dr change it to the day time.. any advice please? i feel nausea..Best regards

How much Benadryl can my 22 month old have?

It say’s on the bottle not for children until the age of 6 but his Pediatrician allowed him to take it about 5 months ago when he had a bad spider bite but I can’t remember how much he said he could have. He’s 22 months old & weighs 33lbs. His doctor will be at lunch for the next 2 hours so I can’t call & ask.

How do I avoid getting drowsy after lunch?




I get so drowsy that I fall asleep in meetings in the afternoon. I do eat a large lunch but as an active person I am starving by lunchtime in school.(PS I take medication for ADD,too..I dunno if this is a factor also.)

How can I stop getting so sleepy at work after lunch?




Every day after lunch I get extremely sleepy at work, I doze at my desk and struggle to keep my eyes open. It hits me between 1pm-2pm. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how I can stop this occurence?

More details: I am a vegetarian so my lunch usually consists of steamed vegetables and rice, or soup and grilled cheese, salad and fries, sometimes a veggie burger or a slice of pizza. I only drink water all day long.

I have never had a problem with this medication, but i haven’t taken it in awhile (a couple days). Now i can’t keep my eyes open, they are watering something aweful, and then they are dry and i can’t stop blinking 100 times a minute….but if i close my eyes, within seconds i could be asleep.

Any tips on how to beat the drowsiness? I was going to nap in my car during lunch if need be…HELP!!!!

Now~ he works 12+ hour shifts
I stay home with our 2 kids so I expect him to do nothing around the house.
I cook, clean, take care of the kids +3 dogs (the best I can.. I fail miserably with the dogs sometimes~ no chance to walk them).. I make his lunch or dinner for work depending on day or night shift.. I do laundry~

Anyways, I am and have been having sleep problems for the last couple years. Have a hard time falling asleep (this started after having our son who needed to be fed every 2 hours the entire first year).. so my sleep patterns are screwed up royally~

Our kids are becoming early risers.. I could handle even 7 am.. I struggle big time with getting them up in the morning if the sun hasn’t even made a sliver of appearance yet.. like today for example.. My son woke up at 4:30 am when my husband got up for work.

Kids are 2 and 4. 2 year old is still needing to be put back in bed maybe 3 times after he is put in bed (it’s an age thing and he is learning)

My husband wants to help so I can somehow sleep better and not feel so overwhelmed that I can’t sleep until I pass out from exhaustion at 1 am. He wants to help so I am not so overwhelmed (which I am stressed lately~)

He suggested a few chores around the house~ I don’t feel right with that. He busts his azz at work.

What is appropriate here? I appreciate him wanting to help I just feel bad asking him to do anything around the house~
Guy that is perfect~ I wouldn’t feel bad with that. doing night time baths and bedtime? Is that good?

How do I get caffeine out of my system?




I drank a cup of coffee this morning and I have not been the same since. My heart rate is way up. Im shaking, feel like throwing up, and am a little dizzy. Even after eating lunch the feeling has not gone away. Caffeine used to make me pass out but it has been a few years since this has happend. Any suggestions to get the caffeine out of my system!

I am a female, age 20 and a week from now, I am starting my first year in college after staying home for four months. since am home everyday from past 4 months my sleeping routine has been bad, very bad. I fall asleep around 4am, and get up in the afternoon like around 2-3 pm. I guess since I was home doing nothing, I was surfing on internet from past 4 months and now it has become a routine for my body. however, I tried to help myself, I did not touch my laptop for 3 days and I could not go to sleep until 4 am all those 3 days. I cleaned my room, read magazine, and wrote journals and I still couldn’t fall asleep until 4 am. I don’t know how am I going to do next week when I have to wake up 8 am for a class since I fall asleep at 4am. someone please help me to bring back my sleeping routine. I will tell you what I have been doing from past 4 months, I get up around 2-3 pm, eat lunch since I already skipped breakfast, and then go on internet to watch shows on youtube until dinner time and then again go back on internet to surf. once I went out to the mall with my friend but when I came back after walking for longer time I still wasn’t tired enough to fall asleep. Do you guys think I have insomia or is it cuz of less physical activity.

Can someone please write down a routine for me to follow so that I can fall asleep early and can be ready for college in a week.

Sleep problems when going to school how to fix?




Now it’s vacaction and i just go to bed at 24:00 or 02:00 in the morning and wake up at 11:00 or around 12:00 (When i’m bringing the paper around i wake up at 9:30) so now i dont have any problems but in 2 weeks i have to go back to school. Last school year i had some sleeping problems and i had some bad marks because of that because i can’t remember anything of the first lesson that i’ve got. (Also i can’t really keep with the other lessons because sometimes i’m to tired)

I’m 15 years old and i wake up at 7:00, sometimes at 7:45 and i have to leave at 8:00 so i get my cloths on fast and get some bread quickly and sometimes even eat it while i’m going to school on my bike. I go to bed at 22:00 (Sometimes earlyer somtimes later) but it always takes a while before i can sleep most of the times it’s 01:00 and i still don’t sleep. (A few times a month its even 05:00) I don’t get bulled or something and i’ve got a lot of friends.(I don’t have a girl friend if that changes anything) Also i’m a nice person and every one things i’m nice, and i can do things and talk with every one also no one hates me. I don’t do alot and i don’t sport. (I do bring the paper around and i consider that as a sport just like making my movies but i don’t make movies all the time) My parents are also okay, they are nice give me the stuff that i need and i can talk with them. (They also know that i sleep bad)

I eat enough i eat breakfast (not much because i’m not a morning person) mostly at school for lunch i eat 2 big peaces of break or a whole baguette. (If i eat it fast enough)

Also sometimes i wake up during the night all the time i just sleep for 30 minutes and than i’m away again for 1 hour and i sleep again etc. etc.

So maybe someone got a solution for me? I think sleep pills isn’t a option because when i sleep i can hardly wake up from my clock (It’s a cell phone it also vibrates and it ones fell on my head because it went off for such a long time)

If i go to bed at 20:00 i still can’t sleep until 01:00 or something or i keep waking up.
It’s not because of my biological clock when school starts after 4 months i still have the same problem.

This is my last year in middle school and because of my sleep problem i’m ruining my grades. And i want to make my parents proud because they but all the hard word in me.

How to deal with sleeping problems??




I wonder if anyone could help me. Here’s the thing: i’ve been in school break for two months now and that means i usually go to bed at about 2 am, and I usually wake up with an alarm clock at 11 for breakfast then lunch immediately after breakfast. My problem is that I have problems sleeping, I usually stay an hour or two in bed trying to get some sleep and so I really have a hard time getting 2 sleep. Second thing is when my alarm sounds at 11 I wake up but I cant manage to get up and I immediately fall asleep. I have tried listening to music with my headphones in bed in order to stay awake but I still fall asleep again.
Anyone could help me dealing with these falling asleep/waking up problems???
I can’t get up earlier since I know it’s not worth it, I prefer sleeping. And I never take naps.

There’s this job that I’m trying to get that is from 10:30 pm to 6 am. It PAYS, it’s a piece of cake, and I’m more of a night owl than a morning person anyways. However, I don’t see when I would get all my sleep really….. I have school at 1:40pm so I at least need to be awake by 1pm. By the time I drive home and everything from the job, it’d be around 7AM. So I’d have approx 6 hours of sleep (give or take, because I tend to lay there for a long time before I actually fall asleep) before school. Actually probably less than that if I want to eat lunch. I get out of school at 3:15, and home around 3:40 (the traffic is awful). Then sometime in the evening (very flexible and not necessary a specified time I need to be there, but it takes at least 3 hours) I need to go out to the barn and clean stalls (my other job). I don’t necessarily need to do this every single evening, but at least 4 times a week.

So right now my schedule is:

1:40 pm – school
3:15 – get out of school
3:40 – get home
5-8 pm – clean stalls (although again, I don’t do this every single evening, just four evenings a week give or take a few).
3 AM – bed time ;-]

So I do have a lot of free time, however, I don’t know when I would get all my sleep. I would be able to get 5-6 hours of sleep before school, and possible squeeze in 2-3 hours of sleep after school somehow to get my full 8 hours (although I normally like to go for 10 hours or so LOL ;-]
But my problem is, can I still get through enough REM cycles when I split up my sleep into sections like that? a sleep cycle is 90 minutes, correct? I’m just worried that I can’t really split my sleep up like this and still allow my body to go through what it needs to go through during sleep.

BTW I’m an 18 year old female… if my diet is relevant, I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t take vitamins. Oh, and as far as medications, I take Zoloft.
LOL and now it’s gone because someone reported it so you look like your on crack because you’re making a comment about nothing LOL!!!

Sleeping Disorder or just lack of sleep?




For the past year, I’ve been falling asleep in my classes, whether they are interesting or not. I’ve even fallen asleep while drawing, doing hw, attending lectures, etc. Although there are times when I pull all nighters, on days when I get 7 or 8 hours of sleep, I still manage to fall asleep in my classes. Even if I take a nap during lunch, I might still fall asleep in my afternoon classes. It’s almost like I’m sleeping all the time. The only times I DO feel awake are when:

#1: drink an energy drink
#2: wake up in the morning do to the sun
#3: randomly after falling asleep in class
#4: in front of the computer unless I only got 4-6 hours of sleep the night before.

And I’m not depressed (or at least I don’t think I am..) and I’m pretty sure I don’t have mono, otherwise I would have been knocked out for a few weeks, and not really tired all year.

So, could this possibly be some kind of sleeping disorder?
