What are ways to prevent sleeping in class?

I tend to sleep in class when the lecture is really boring or when I’m tired from sleeping late due to my student council duties. I end up missing a lot of important lessons and setting a bad example to my other classmates. Any suggestions? I’d solve this my self but all the stuff i tried failed plus I’m desperate and love yahoo answers. Thanks :)

I’ve had arthiritis in most joints since I was 10, I’m now 30. I’ve been suffering with other symtoms lately, including severe tiredness, muscle pain, insomnia and very severe bruising, pain and swelling on my knees, wrists, elbows and ankles. I’ve had tests with my Reumatology consultant and he said I also have Fibromyalgia. I don’t know a great deal about this, does anyone else have this; I’d love a bit of advice on how to find relief. Many thanks.

How do I get better sleep?

I’ve always been nightowl. So I can stay awake for hours at night with no problem. Unfortunately, even if I’ve woken up really early earlier in the day I can’t seem to go to sleep at night. Normally once I hit my bed I’m out like a light. But the trouble isn’t falling alseep, when I’m there I have no problem with that. The trouble is getting into bed. I’m always up doing other things I think I need to take care of. Therefor I totally ruin any rest I need and I feel lousy every morning. And I’ve never been a morning person, even with proper sleep.
Even though I may have gotten only four hours of sleep the previous night I’ll be exhausted in the morning. But once the morning passes I’m energized the rest of the day until really late at night. You would think being up so long and busy all day would tire me out. And I’m not a big pop drinker or anything like that. So I know caffene is not the issue either.
I think I know what the problem is. My work schedule. Some days I have be up at 4am and others I don’t get done until 2am. Thankfully that doesn’t happen back to back. But it is just enough to ruin my sleep schedule. So as much as I’d love to get on a regular schedule. That will never happen. I guess I answered my own question. I love my career to much to change that. Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about it.

How do you like/dislike the new sleep aid, ROZEREM?

If you’re taking Rozerem, the newest prescription sleep aid, or if you’ve taken it before, I’d love to know what you do or don’t like about it. :)

I’ve been thinking of asking my doctor for it, as it apparently has zero capacity to become "addictive". It also sounds like the most "natural" drug in how it works. FYI: I don’t need sleep help all the time. I only need help when I have to go to bed abnormally early on a particular night, due to having to rise abnormally early the next morning.

My normal "sleep onset" is somewhat late, but that’s OK usually, since my work schedule is flexible and my commute is short. HOWEVER, if I need to be up super-early to catch a plane, leave for a roadtrip, etc., I’d ideally like to go to bed extra early the night before. But, no luck!! :( I’ve tried chamomile, Benadryl, melatonin, meditation, warm baths — I just can’t fall asleep at a time my body &/or brain perceives as "way too early".

THAT’S when I hope a pill like Rozerem can help! :)

I have four dogs and they all love to sleep in bed with me and my new fiancee(aka. mommy and daddy). We both love the dogs very much but it can be a mood killer to be licked right in the middle of an intimate moment. any suggestions?
