Okay so it takes me a long time to fall asleep. I don’t know why. A year ago it took me like an hour to fall asleep. But lately it takes me about 3 or 4 hours. Plus im too young to take sleeping pills. Any thing or any ways to help me fall asleep?

I try to stay awake when I get up in the morning by drinking coffee, but I can drink 3 cups and be sleeping 5 minutes later. I’ll work all day, and be exhausted, and come home, and stay awake so I’ll be able to sleep at night, and when night comes, I lay in bed for a long time trying to get to sleep. Then I get on the computer because I can’t sleep. And it goes back and forth until I finally get to sleep. What are some ways I could sleep better at night, and stay awake better in the morning?

I can go to bed and be sleepy, but I can’t sleep. I’ll lay in bed for hours before I finally fall asleep around 3 AM, and it sucks because I have school. Then on the weekends when I don’t have school, I’ll go to bed when I want, which is like at 3-4 AM, and sleep, but wake up several times in the morning, but fall asleep soon after waking up. It’s been this way for a long time now. Do I have a sleep disorder?

Ever since I’ve been losing a huge amount of sleep regularly, my heart has been beating faster. Or so I think. I know that can’t be good and I know I need more sleep now.
One time, I went to bed around 11 and set my alarm clock for 9, but I woke up around 4. Then it took me a long time to fall back asleep again. My head was hurting as I tried. I hope it’s not a result of being used to not much sleep.
What can I do?

I actually bought one a long time ago. Tried to watch it twice. I could not get past the first 15 or so minutes and even that was a chore. It was bad, very bad. Critics said he was a grade B actor, I think they were being kind.

I’ve been from doctor to doctor and we’re still working on what on Earth is wrong with me - I’m having increased fatigue, by now it can be called exhaustion. I can’t concentrate, at times I can barely lift my arms or walk, and sometimes I find myself slurring my words I’m so tired. I had a sleep study done and they found that I have more REM sleep than normal and the onset is much quicker. Rather than having increasing time periods of REM sleep, mine are uniform and last a long time. My sleep specialist has ruled out narcolepsy because the onset is not severe enough, but says that the information indicates only that I am very tired, though of course this is something to continue looking into. I literally need 15 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period to function properly, while only a couple years ago I needed about 7. When I search around online for sleep disorders having to do with REM, the only thing that I find is REM Behavioral Disorder, having to do with a lack of REM, and as a result acting out the dream. I do not have that.
What other disorders are there that either result in exhaustion and an increase in REM sleep or just the latter?

It usually takes me a long time….I toss and turn at least an hour at night. But if I get tired and lay down during the day I can fall asleep in like 5 minutes.
I also have to sleep with earplugs to block out ALL sound…and it has to be completely dark. It’s really hard to do that when I sleep with my boyfriend because he leaves the tv on (noise and light…blah).

I have sleep apnea (diagnosed in a sleep study). When I go to bed, I can fall asleep very quickly, but then I wake up. And after I wake up, then I can’t fall asleep again for a long time.
Does anyone else have this same problem? I can fall asleep very easily initially. But after I wake up again, then I have so much trouble sleeping.

I’ve wanted to know this for such a long time… You know when you wake up the morning after and you’re trying to figure out when exactly you fell asleep… I can’t do it.

Obviously, I can’t sleep. It is 6:00 in the morning and I have been in bed for a long time now, but I have been on the computer while in bed. I was really tired all day and now I am not tired any more. This has been happening to me a lot lately. I will be in bed for up to three hours until I can finally fall asleep. It is awful! Do I have Insomnia??
How do you get rid of it?

My boyfriend has lately been having a very difficult time sleeping because he has dreams about something that happened to him a long time ago. The dreams are pretty bad and he doesn’t sleep well. He’s already going to start talking to a counselor but does anyone have any tips on how he can sleep better at night?
