Where to download white noise music for sleeping aids?
Hi all,
I cannot sleep well because I am facing an extremely busy street with heavy traffic and directly beneath my bed there is a pizza shop which plays heavy metal rock and roll type music loudly in the all days and all nights. I am looking for white noise music that I can download for free and I can use my laptop to play when I am sleeping.
I am also okay with paid white noise music, although I am primarily looking for free ones… so if you have extremely good recommendations, please point out to me so that I can buy them. I have found numerous sellers of white noise online and I found it’s very confusing and it’s difficult to know which works best…
Thanks a lot!

Will deleting the hibernation files of Windows Vista mess with the Sleep function? I have a laptop, and use the Sleep function a lot. It didn’t say anything about the sleep function when I deleted the files.

I feel a little silly asking this because I’m 15. But every year, I can’t fall asleep and stay asleep Christnas Eve.
I end up staying awake half the night watching The Christmas Story marathon and getting like an hour of sleep.
I have a tv and radio in my room. And a laptop.
Any ideas on how to fall asleep and stay asleep? I usually go to bed around 10 and my family opens presents around 6. But the longer I can sleep, the better.
Please help! Happy holidays to everyone! Thank you!

I have had dreams the past three nights of people stealing things from me and in the dream I get really upset about it. They’ve stolen my credit cards, laptop and car among other things. Just wondering why I keep having dreams with the same theme.

I go to a large college and I ride the bus and walk quite a bit with my laptop in my book bag. I was wondering if it is safe to keep the computer in sleep mode or if hibernating is better. I am concerned that sleep will cause damage to the HDD and i can’t seem to find an answer on the internet. Thanks!

I’m running Vista with SP1 and have been experiencing several different problems with the sleep and hibernate functions
Hibernate-
1. About every 3 in 4 hibernations (spontaneously) the laptop will have an incomplete hibernation. The computer will begin to hibernate by first shutting off the screen, but the processor will keep running and the power LED will stay on (sometimes the wireless LAN LED stays on too).
When this happens, the computer is pretty much in a suspended state and even if I press the power button to try and resume my session nothing happens. I always have to resolve this by doing a forced manual shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds.
Sleep-
1. Same problem as Hibernate problem 1 (incomplete/suspended sleep mode), always resolve with forced manual shutdown.
2. About half the time when I put the computer to sleep, it’ll go to sleep for 20-30 minutes, then suddenly reboot, saying windows experienced unexpected shutdown etc.
My VAIO is factory refurbished and I’ve had it for about 2 months

I am a female, age 20 and a week from now, I am starting my first year in college after staying home for four months. since am home everyday from past 4 months my sleeping routine has been bad, very bad. I fall asleep around 4am, and get up in the afternoon like around 2-3 pm. I guess since I was home doing nothing, I was surfing on internet from past 4 months and now it has become a routine for my body. however, I tried to help myself, I did not touch my laptop for 3 days and I could not go to sleep until 4 am all those 3 days. I cleaned my room, read magazine, and wrote journals and I still couldn’t fall asleep until 4 am. I don’t know how am I going to do next week when I have to wake up 8 am for a class since I fall asleep at 4am. someone please help me to bring back my sleeping routine. I will tell you what I have been doing from past 4 months, I get up around 2-3 pm, eat lunch since I already skipped breakfast, and then go on internet to watch shows on youtube until dinner time and then again go back on internet to surf. once I went out to the mall with my friend but when I came back after walking for longer time I still wasn’t tired enough to fall asleep. Do you guys think I have insomia or is it cuz of less physical activity.
Can someone please write down a routine for me to follow so that I can fall asleep early and can be ready for college in a week.

Currently my laptop (which runs windows vista, has all the current patches and updates and norton antivirus) is causing me basiclly 2 problems. Sometimes my computer will just no longer recognize new usb devices, (if i unplug the keyboard/mouse, then plug back in, it won’t even recognize that anything has been connected, and it worked up until i had unplugged it). the second is if i go to put it to sleep, sometimes the screen will go black and it will act like it is going to sleep but in fact the computer never stops running (i’ve left it for over an hour before and still never goes to sleep), so i have to forced The two problems seem to be interrelated (usb one is happening, the the sleep problem will almost always happen). it also seems to happen with time… like just after i boot or wake up, everything will always work fine for like an hour or 2, but then after that is when these issues start occuring. any thoughts, ideas? i’ve tried researching this and came up with nothing.
if i reinstall, will i lose my data?

My macbook, intel core duo (not core 2 duo), i bought from ebay off a college student. I’ve never owned a mac before and i was new to the bluetooth capabilities. I tried using it and it would only work say… 5 minutes throughout the entire day. it always said bluetooth: not available. i went to the applestore and while i was looking at some imacs i noticed that the bluetooth was working… for all of them.
another problem, not sure if it is related is that when i set my laptop to sleep mode. it will go to sleep for about 30 seconds then come right back on!
and another problem! it may be related to the sleep problem but when i close my macbook, without putting it to sleep or anything. to like bring it upstairs in a hurry or something. when i open the laptop, the backlight will not turn on, for like 1 minute. if i open it slightly it will turn on but when i open it up to my liking, it will take forever for it to come on… I have a feeling something is wrong with my macbook…

I just recently got a blackberry and I took some nice pictures of my cousins and I. WHen i went to desktop manager and media manager, i located the file and transferred my picture to my laptop but it didn’t show up as a picture it was a paper icon. And the picture ended with jpg.rem? How can i change that? btw all my pictures on the blackberry end with that for some reason.

Actually, my father has given me a new laptop ~ and since the Wireless Network Connection is available, I can barely sleep early like before. In fact, without the computer and my new obsession – surf the Net, I’m indeed a night owl — I tend to think numerous problems I’ve in my life and ponder about my future. Somehow, I’m a college student and having these kind of matters can possibly lead me to bigger problem ~ I am rarely attend classes and losing focus towards my goal in achieving better life.
