I am on Lamictal (lamogtrine) as a mood stabilizer and the psychiatrist also prescribed Lexapro but it’s not covered on my insurance formulary. They will prescribe Celexa, but I read that there may be problems with it when taken for bipolar disorder. What medications have you had good results with?

I have chronic fatigue and struggle with periods of extremely low energy. I was perscribed provigil which worked fantastically. It was the only time I ever felt like I had "normal" energy levels. Unfortunately I have been without insurance for the last couple of years (provigil is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced) and have been researching and trying herbal supplements. Can anyone recommend anything that has actually worked for them personally?

I’m looking for a fairly quick qualified answer at 2 in the morning. I just got off the phone with my insurance companies ask a nurse program. She told me about as much as the side of the box, "consult a doctor if breast feeding". She did confirm that many over the counter sleeping aids have benadryl. They gave my wife darvicet for pain after the c-section and that’s a narcotic. Isn’t it like a synthetic opiate? Anyhow that was ok while she was breast feeding so I’m thinking benadryl should be less dangerous.

and then is out of them with 7-10 days to go in the month and then struggles to find a way to sleep till they get their next refill, and who else here has no medical insurance and has to pay out of pocket 5 for 30 – 10mg pills, and has to take 2 a night, because one just doesn’t do the job anymore? And who else here was told that Ambien wasn’t addictive and was lied too, and now goes through withdrawls when they don’t have it?

They both let you sleep 8 hours. My insurance covers one and not the other. Has anybody tried them both? Which did you like better? Do they both make you feel rested until the end of the work day?

I don’t have health insurance yet, so I wouldn’t be able to afford a prescription. Any suggestions?

Why is that? My Doc called me saying only able to get 10 days not a months worth? Our insurance is GEHA if that helps? What if I find that this medication works unlike other sleep aids I have been on? Can I renew and keep getting more 10 days?

I am 19 and have been on xyzal for a year because I keep getting hives every single day and they are really uncomfortable and itchy. I also have asthma. I am suppose to be seeing an allergist, but his treatments are way to expensive even though i have health insurance. What can happen to me for being in antihistamines for a year?
This july would make it a year.

I work nights; I came to 3rd shift because I’ve had insomnia for the past few years. I have not been on 3rd a year yet. The past month I haven’t slept well at all. I’ve taken Excedrin PM, the generic brands at Wal*Mart; yesterday I even fixed a drink to see if it would help. I don’t want a prescription. Herbs in capsule form such as Valerian and Passionflower aren’t strong enough. How much is Lunesta with insurance and is it good to take? When will it start to work? I think Ambien would be too strong, and I’ve heard it can be addictive. I’m desperate enough to try a bit of magic. Whoever answers this, please do not include a personal religious comment for the previous sentence.

I have no insurance. My doctor has been wanting to send me for the sleep testing for the sleep apnea. I snore badly, sleep only 1 to 2 hours at a time. Just as tired when I wake up as I am when I go to sleep. No energy, tired, sleepy all day. I have gained 30 pounds in the last 6 months. I really can not afford to go to the doctor, especially this sleep test.

Recently my old man has started snoring EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD. We don’t have insurance, so our resources are limited as to what to do. I’m willing to try pretty much any homeopathic remedies, or SOMETHING that is non invasive, as he won’t put anything in his mouth. Also, I already take sleep medication, but just in the last week, it’s gotten considerably worse.

I have had a lot of sleeping problems since I was very young, and I’m always tired. I’m pretty sure I have sleep apnea, and I know I snore. When I have fallen asleep in the chair, while watching television, I occasionally wake myself up after I stop breathing or snoring. I’ve also been told that I’m a very restless sleeper, tossing and turning all night. Could this also be caused by the sleep apnea/snoring, or is this another issue? I know I could I should see a doctor, but I’m not that worried about it yet. Also, I have horrible health insurance, and I doubt it would be covered. But are there other things I can try? Foods that may help me relax, or foods to stay way from? I don’t exercise much now. But even when I regularly did a couple of years ago, I still had problems.
My problem isn’t insomnia. I can get to sleep pretty easy, but just don’t sleep well.
