What do you do at night when your insomniac?

I have chronic insomniac and i don’t remember when the last time was when i slept because I stay awake all night any ideas of what I should do when this happens because I am extremely bored when this happens.

How do I get a 3 year old insomniac to sleep?

I have a 3 year old insomniac that just won’t sleep. My hubby and I have been gettin on average 1 hour sleep a day COMBINED because of this. It has been going on for over 2 years and is getting out of hand somebody please help!!!

Insomnia…help!?

I sprained my ankle a week and a half ago. I made an appointment to see a podiatrist, who couldn’t see me until today. All he did for me was give me an ace bandage and told me to exercise it. I told him my foot bothered me at night and it was hard to sleep. He sent me off saying take some ibuprofen and i’ll be fine. Well here I am on sleepless night 5. I’ve become an insomniac due to the pain and other stress. I’m moving in 2 days and also going on a big trip in a week. I can go see my general practioner tomorrow…would it be wrong to be forthright in telling my doctor that i absoultely need some type of drug to help me sleep.

How far can an insomniac walk or run in one day?

Okay… so I’m writing a story that is fictional and I’m sure that I could come up with my own answer to this project but lets just say you are at your top physical prime and an insomniac, how many miles could that person walk at a reasonably fast pace in one day? and yes of course there would be breaks for necessities.

Hi, I’m 15 and have needed AT LEAST an hour every night to fall asleep for as long as I can remember. I have never been fully rested since I started having this problem who-knows-how-long ago. I really need help with it, though, because it is starting to really hurt me in school. Through my 9th grade year I found myself daydreaming more than I ever had before. Even before, like back to 5th grade, I never could focus easily in class and found myself taking a long time to push through my work. I am a solid A/B student and have been my whole life, but have also had trouble finishing something and not getting distracted. So, I told my mom about this because I thought that it was ADD or ADHD, but I tested negative for that. Anyways, the past few days, I’ve noticed I don’t fall asleep until 2 A.M. at the earliest and don’t wake up until 10 A.M. at the earliest. It just recently hit me that this could be insomnia when I started thinking of how this girl in my school is an insomniac. This insomnia is making it really hard to focus in school and it is also making me irritable and giving me terrible mood swings. I would blow up at people for trying to be nice and talking to me, or touching me by accident, or other ridiculous things like that. Because of this, I never do my homework when it is not graded and do it at the last minute when it is (or I should say did. I’m on break right now). I’m annoyed by nearly everything my parents or brothers do and also by really simple things that I know SHOULD NOT bother me at all, but they do. It takes me FOREVER to finish a cross stitch, no matter how small, just because I cannot concentrate on ANYTHING for a long time. Sorry if I repeated some things.

Anyways, I have an appointment with a pediatrician on July 7th for my degenerative TMJ, knee and hip joint pains, and also my acid reflux. She is supposed to be a really great diagnostician. Should I ask her about my insomnia?

Also, my mom sees no problem that it takes so long to fall asleep, but it is a big problem for me. How can I express that to her better?

I think i’m an insomniac. I can’t fall asleep until 4 am each night. I always get super anxious at night. Is this something worth going to the doctor over? Do i have insomnia?

Insomniac?

I’m doing research on insomnia for school and I wanted to see if anyone out there has some hands on expieriences. Like, what emotions does an insomniac feel? Do you feel more alert, or less alert then you would with sleep. And if you know people that are insomniacs, do they have behavioral differences from others?

I would really appreciate your insight. It would help me with my project a lot.

When I was traveling In Asia you could buy valium over the counter. They were brilliant for the long bus journeys. I’ve tried the ones from the chemist over here and found them to be a bit poo.
Not that I’m an insomniac, I work nights and will be changing shifts soon so need something to get my sleeping pattern back.
Anybody know of any good ways? Preferably natural

Gosh I hope I spelled that right… So, I’m a bit of an insomniac anyway, and finals aren’t helping anything. I took this herbal thing that I took as a kid to help me sleep (Calm’s Forte) and it helped but I ran out of what my aunt gave me. I took An off-brand of Benadryl (the kind from Costco), and I want to know how long it is "safe" for me to take it without becoming addicted or relying on it completely to get to sleep.

lately I’ve turned into an insomniac and its taking a toll on my health. i dont drink coffe anymore but i still cant get enough sleep. i’m a teen, is it ok if i take sleeping pills

is there any side effects of taking the pills?

How long does lunesta take to go into effect?




I was given a sample of lunesta to take but I want to know how long does that go into effect. I am a severe insomniac and most sleeping pills don’t work for me unless I take more than the regaular dosage so how long after I take lunesta should I start to fall asleep before I realize that it’s not working.

So ever since high school I’ve been an insomniac. On rare nights when I’m lucky I’ll get 8-9 hours total of sleep, but most of the time I get anywhere from 4-6 hours total a night. It’s lame but I’m just used to it. A lot of times it’ll be broken up too, with me waking up once or twice throughout the night, so a lot of times it won’t even be 4-6 hours straight through. Like I said though I’m used to it now, my body has learned to adapt to little sleep. Like I said, it’s lame but I just deal with it.

Anyways, on to the question. It seems that for the little sleep that I do get I spend the majority of it in REM sleep. Just about every night I have very vivid dreams. I remember back in the day when I used to sleep good that it would take me a while to start dreaming when i slept, but nowadays there have been times when I fell asleep and went straight into dreaming with no between time. If I’m asleep for, say, four hours, I could swear that I’m dreaming for just about all of the four hours. I usually wake up thinking "wow, it feels like ive been asleep for 7 hours", but then I look at the clock and it’s only been four hours. It always feels like I’ve been asleep for longer than I actually have because I have such vivid dreams. So, my question is, if you spend more time in REM sleep, does that mean you need less sleep overall? For example, if you got the equivalent of 8 hours worth of REM sleep in five hours. Would that mean you need less hours of sleep overall if you spent more of it in REM?
