It’s stupid. I have insomnia that means I have a restless night and can’t get up early in the morning because I’m tired by the time I do sleep.

I do feel lonely at night. Is this a reason?? Sounds childish.

How do I cure my insomnia at age 12?

I’m only 12 and I only have 1 week left of summer vacation. And I’m well aware of what insomnia is.
I’ve had it since I was 8 but it usually only happens during spring-summer. I fall asleep at about 3:30 – 4:00am. I’m worried that if I’m not cured soon it’ll mess with my grades in school!

I’ve tried reading books, listening to music, making my room as dark as possible, etc..etc… but nothings working! Please Help!
I’ve been trying to sleep earlier, like around 11:00pm, but I can’t do it. It hasn’t been that bad since it’s still summer and I can wake up at about 12:00pm, but once school starts again I’ll have to wake up at 7:00am. which is less than 5h of sleep!

Persistent sleep problems?

I persistently have problems trying to go to sleep. I don’t watch tv before I go to bed and I avoid caffeine after 4 pm. I either can’t sleep til really late, like 3 am or so or I crash early and then still can’t wake up in the morning or if I do I’m exhausted.

I wake up with ugly purple bags under my eyes. I’m a young adult (21) but look 30 because of this. Not only that it’s beginning to affect my school schedule. Either I go to class exhausted and rarely feeling rested or I sleep through my alarm.

PLEASE help. I NEED to fix this insomnia problem!! I have a MUCH harder semester coming up this week and an exam this Monday…if I sleep in on Monday I’ll fail.

What are effective ways to treat this problem? I already have an eye mask but what else can I try? ie. techniques, drinks, etc

I’m really tired of insomnia (no pun intended). I took two sleeping pills about 3 hours ago and they haven’t worked. Is it safe to take more? I definitely am not interested in an overdose.

Why do people hate on Marijuana so bad?

"Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere." -George Washington
"Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country." – Thomas Jefferson

Now if two of our founding fathers supported it, and our country was built off of there outlooks then why in the world do we outlaw it now? Well I guess the constitution is pretty much out of the picture…soo no surprises there.

Just to list some of the medicinal properties of this so called " drug-plant"

Its use for Anorexia, Asthma, Nausea, Pain, Peptic Ulcer, Alcoholism, Glaucoma, Epilepsy, Depression, Migraine, Anxiety, Inflammation,Hypertension, Insomnia, Cancer Interestingly, relief of many of the symptoms marijuana was used for in these illnesses are many of the same symptoms that have been proven in modern research. This should not be surprising unless we want to assume that all of the experience of thousands of years did not have some factual basis.

As for killing brain cells.. false check this link out http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=3475#12

Anyone ever heard of MRSA? The only natural and reliable cure left on the planet is THC oil, The antibiotics used have to be constantly morphed and changed, because the virus is constantly evolving. Weed on the other hand stays the same.

SOO long story shot, everyone who hates on it and says that people who do smoke are nothing but ignorant and don’t truly know any facts.
Well here in California its legal it has been for medical patients for years and were voting again to make it legal in November.

So no its not really illegal. Plus its WAY less harmfull than alcohol and that IS legal. Humm, whats wrong with this picture.

How many people a year die from alcohol?
And how many die from a pot overdose?
Yeah that’s what I though.

sat night i got a really good nights sleep.

but last friday night no sleep at all was awake all night finally just watched tv till i caught a couple hours.

i talked to my dr on friday he said it was nothing to worry about but hell i worry about stuff yes sometimes too much but this is serious.

i cant take herbs and things either
dont drink milk

i just have to figure out how to relax and sleep,
i used to sleep like a rock, but some nights for the last couple months i have not been sleeping well, could be the heat i dont know.

not depressed and not anxious or overly worried about anything.
life is good except for a couple things and they will be fixed soon i hope.
i’m getting along just fine with my family and my b/f so there are no worries there

its like i have just run out of energy and sometimes even when iam bloody exusted i still cant sleep.
i know some of it is the heat my friend told me to move to a cooler climate
oh well when the heat is gone then it will be too cold to sleep in my room without 6 or 7 blankets on me as i sleep under a window and it gets cold here in the winter.

i just dont know what to make of this, any suggestions would be helpful

For years now, I’ve had a problem sleeping. Most nights I only get about six hours sleep (on a good night) with my usual average being maybe three or four.

I’ve been to doctors, only to be prescribed medication that nearly killed me (no exaggeration there) and then when they found out I was allergic to it, I found out that there was nothing else I could take.

So as I sit up this early April First…I find myself asking a stupid question.

What’s the easiest way, without medication, to cure my insomnia and help me sleep? I need the deep sleep, the restful sleep. Something I’ve not had in…well years.

I am being treated for insomnia and I did not want to take sleeping pills, so my doctor told me to take 2 pills of Benadryl before I go to bed. How far in advance should I take the Benadryl? How long does it take to take effect? My doctor didn’t tell me this, he just told me to take it before bed. But should I take it immediately before, or like 1 – 2 hours before? Thanks!

I am an insomniac. It takes me an hour, minimum, to get to sleep. Usually, it’s more. On a bad night, I never actually feel like I fall asleep at all – I remain in a half-awake mode, tossing and turning. Typically though, it takes me around two hours to fall asleep. Once I am asleep I don’t wake up – but curiously, I never seem to remember dreaming at all. This is probably because my REM cycles are disturbed by getting less sleep, and therefore having less opportunity to dream.

I have tried a lot of things to help me fall asleep faster. I have tried the muscle tensing technique, meditation, visualization of a single object, reading before bed, drinking warm milk before bed, trying relaxing activities before bed. I don’t read in my bedroom – my bed is exclusively for sleeping, as I have read that when you do other things during the daytime in your bedroom, it creates negative connections. When I get regular exercise during the day, it helps a little, but my insomnia is so bad that the difference it makes is negligible. I rarely go to sleep before 12, and during the school year, I have to get up at 6 every day.
There are several reasons why I want to reduce my insomnia. Obviously, more sleep creates better alertness during the day, and I hate being in that loopy sleep-deprived mode all the time. I want to be able to start dreaming again. Point is, I am so frustrated with my insomnia that I don’t know what to do. Should I go to a sleep lab and be interred there for a night, or what? Are there other methods that are more effective for worse cases of insomnia? This isn’t a nuisance – I have been a bad insomniac for 2 years straight. Until now, I’ve been just trying to live with it, but I’ve run out of options. What should I do? I am hesitant to take pills, because I know of their addictive nature, and I know that they create dependency. But will I have to, in the end? Please help this sleep-deprived soul!

I have partaken in a few too many libations over the course of the this glorious Day of Independence.

Now… I no sleepy.

Do you wise sages of R&S know of a way to stop the evils of insomnia, so that I may drift off to Dreamland with visions of Louboutins and Johnny Depp dancing in my head?
@ Libidinous Jeff…

They took out my off switch when they replaced my Stepford Femme Bot program for a Stanford Feminist Bot one. ;)
@ Golah…

I’m pretty sure it’s just you.

SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP problems bugging me????!?

I have occasional sleeplessness/insomnia type episodes. I had it again this week. I stress over sleep when I have school, because I can’t sleep in and have to get up so early, it doesn’t allow time to get a good sleep. I’m not going to bed early. I’m never ever tired, I usually fall asleep at midnight and wake up at 6 if it’s a school night. This week though, I had my sleep problems, and couldn’t fall asleep until 3 all week long. It was horrible. By Thursday I was dragging, and I fell asleep at a Star Wars concert. OK so this weekend I got sufficient sleep, but I know that’s because it was the weekend and I could sleep in. Which leads me to believe this problem is psychological. I can’t relax knowing I have to get up early. I feel anxious when others are asleep, and I feel the need to keep them up with me. [my family] Now already I am dreading going to sleep tonight, when I know I can, it’s just in my mind. What should I do? Take a sleep pill? How can I relax? Otherwise these thoughts will manifest my head and I won’t sleep again.
