I been lacking sleep lately, since I’ve been working a lot lately.
Well I’ve been having 4 or 5 hours of sleep and I work around 4 times a week, 6 hour shifts. Then sometimes after work I have dance practice and on my days off, I walk almost the whole day or do physical activities.
Lately during dance practices, I loose my breath so quick.
Is this possible? What should I do to heal my body? I want to still work out, but I can’t keep going.
Btw I am 18 years old.

I am working tomorrow for 11 1/2 hours. If I go to sleep right now, I will get less than five hours of sleep. Should I go to sleep or stay up and drink something caffeinated in the morning? If I stay up, I will regain my sleep tomorrow night.

I’m on anti-depressant medication, so maybe it’s that that’s giving me bouts of fatigue and tiredness, and sometimes extreme laziness. If I don’t have anything to do sometimes, I’ll stay in bed until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, completely tired still. Doesn’t matter how many hours of sleep I get, I’m still tired. What kind of tests can be done at the docs? Blood test? Change in meds?
Thanks -

okay so my mom’s has been havinf insomnia for months now and she doesnt know what to do. Shes tried so many things but nothing seems to work. The doctor gave her some pills, but she doesn’t really drink them because she knows they are not good for you. even the doctor doesn’t even recommend her to drink pills, but he gave it to her anyway. there’s time she can’t sleep until 4 or 5 in the morning. The weird thing is that shes not even sleepy or tired during the day or night even if she only got like 3 hours of sleep or so. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone suffered from insomnia and overcome it? your advice will be greatly appreaciated!!!

I get about 3 to 4 hours of sleep each night during the week, and on the weekends I catch up and sleep from 8 to 12 hours.. Is this unhealthy? ..And can my sleeping habits lead to anything serious?

I’m a high school senior that’s averaged five or so hours of sleep a night for the past four or five years. Studies vary on the amount of sleep adolescents are in need of, but I’ve noticed they generally name a figure of around nine hours.
I’ve never been to a sleep clinic; however, I have been under medical care before. The best they could do is help me get more sleep — not how to recover from the effects of deprivation.
Rarely do I wake up and feel rested, even with what should be a sufficient amount of rest. What is the best way to recover from years of sleep deprevation?
Reading the responses so far; I apologize if I seem overly dramatic. It isn’t my intention to.
All that might be needed to answer the question is in the header itself. I supplied details only in hopes to find a more refined answer geared towards my situation.
If it helps, you can feel free to ignore the details. With that said, I appreciate all the answers so far, and would appreciate that everyone keep an open mind and consider my situation when replying.

I have a weird work schedule I work 3 twelve hour shifts a week and get paid for 40. Last night I worked a 12 hour shift and I’m doing it again now. But I only got 4 hours of sleep before work because of my dogs. I’m soooo tired. How am I going to stay awake until 7AM? I just started fifteen minutes ago at 7PM central. Is this unhealthy? I’m also a hypochondriac!

I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep on weeknights, and a max of 8 on weekends. My eyes are always bloodshot and the corners of my sclera are a tint of light yellow. Is this sleep deprivation?

I have been getting 4-6 hours of sleep a night for the past few weeks and its draining me… Regardless of if I fall asleep at 8pm or 2am, I’m always up an hour or 2 before my alarm would be going off. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

So basically I sleep at 12 to 1 everyday. What I feel is when I wake up at 6 or 7 I feel great, refreshed and all, but if I wake up with 8 to 9 more hours of sleep I immediately need to sleep more like up until 10 to12. My eyes feel really heavy if I wake up on those times. I read around and found out that your REM cycle lasts for 4 hours so i still what might be happening?my rem cycle ends at like 6 or 7? I’m wondering if this is normal since like i sort of think that my mind might be tricking my body and telling it that its fully awake at 6 and 7 but when it hits the other times its my bodies real feeling.
Addditional Details: When the school year hits I can go with like 7 days without sleep. Sleeping maybe 1 or 2 hours a day. With this sort of wacky schedule my family members constantly told me that I wasn’t living a healthy life. I didn’t feel really tired during those days and didn’t function out of the ordinary but in the end I slept for 24 hours straight. Feeling a bit like a camel now ahaha. Anyways after those 7 days usually my face would look a bit green too. Could this have altered my Rem Sleeping pattern? As much as I hate to admit I have a pretty messed up sleep schedule and eat schedule.

I’m 14 years old and have decided to try the Everyman sleep cycle, which is a form of polyphasic sleep. I adjusted it slightly so that i could take the 3-hour nap from 11:30 to 2:30, then wait 4 hours, take a 20-minute nap before school, wait 7 hours and 50 minutes, take another 20-minute nap after school, then wait 4 hours and take the last nap at around 7. I’ve read about it, and supposedly the first few weeks of sleep-deprivation force the body to go immediately into the REM stage so that when you take the naps, you don’t waste any time with the pre-sleep stages and you get the benefit of 8 hours of sleep, just in the 4 hours. What I want to know is, is this true, or healthy even? From all the stuff I’ve read, it works, and the people are perfectly healthy. Help, please!

I am 12 years old and ever since second grade I have not been able to sleep without te television on, and not go to bed until very late. On a good night i will get maybe six and a half hours of sleep (i wake up at 6:30.) Yes, I have tried going to bed earlier, without the television on, but when I try that, I find myself up forever, possibly not getting any sleep at all.
