For the past few weeks, I’ve been unable to get to sleep or even stay sleeping. It’s really taking a tole on me as well; I am physically exhausted and very weak…
I’ve been getting about 2 hours of sleep every night, sometimes none, sometimes a little more, but its nowhere near as much sleep that I need.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make yourself fall asleep?
(I have tried over the counter natural sleeping aids, but I don’t think they help.)

ever since my boyfriend finished me i have had massive problems trying to sleep on a night, like right now it is ten to eleven at night, im tired out but as soon as i turn off the light an get into bed i cannot sleep and it takes me hour, from some googling found that it is a symptom of depression to go along with the other symptoms of depression i have, however this is starting to really bug me, i can put up with random crying, but i cant do with this not being able to sleep even though im knackered, any help on how i could sleep? ive tried herbal pills, listening to music and reading, no use
any help please?
* im fifteen, sixteen in february
* i have told my mum, she says its because i get up late on a morning, but that is not the case, i get up at 11am sometimes 12, but i arent falling asleep till like 3am, i know im getting 9 hours of sleep but im worried about going back to school and falling to sleep at 3am and having to get up at half past 7

I get 8-9 hours of sleep a night but I experience extreme drowsiness during the day and find myself dozing off during class. When I wake up from those naps I’m not refreshed. Any ideas?

Okay so i know there are a couple of different methods people use to get around sleeping a full night(four hours then a few 20 min. naps later on throughout the day) but say i am going to sleep late and waking up early would it be better to just stay up and get say three hours of sleep rather then four? The other morning i woke up at eight after going to bed at probably four but then i went back to bed till noon and when i woke up at 12 i seemed more tired then when i woke up at eight… I dont know if this has to do with waking up during REM sleep cycles or what…

I’ve been feeling constantly tired and drowsy lately. I can get ten hours of sleep and still be drowsy. I’m afraid I might have Chronic Fatuige or Fibromialga (spelling??)
Is this normal?
Is there any way to fix this?

Dreaming is associated with out REM sleep cycle. Researchers have found that:
a – the deepest sleep occurs mainly in the first few hours of sleep.
b – most dreams occur during the first 2 hours of sleep.
c – the time for dreaming is spread evenly throughout the total sleep period.
d – dreaming is associated with narcolepsy and sleep apnea.
Thank you very much!

At the risk of sounding like a Springsteen song… Lately, I’ve been going to bed and waking up tired. I feel like I’ve been waking up too many times in the night. What can I do to stop that?
I go to bed in enough time to get a good 8 hours of sleep, so that suggestion is already covered. And, I won’t take sleeping pills. There has to be other suggestions out there, though!

Im 14 years old and I have suffered from insomnia since I started school. I’m really annoyed with it now I wake up everyday at 6 a.m. and fall asleep by 2-3 a.m. I try reading, exercise, and wearing myself out, but nothing works.
I don’t get 8 hours of sleep during the week, instead I get 2-4 hours MAXIMUM.
How can i "cure" my insomnia? My mother recently tried Aromatherapy, but i find the concentrated scent very annoying and awful.
I need my sleep, please help me. I wan’t to sleep again. I haven’t had a dream for 2 years now.(AKA R.E.M), i miss them.

Hello everybody,
For the last couple of days, I have been feeling quite drowsy at unusual times. I am between 20 and 30, male, and work out ( both cardio and weights ) regularly, and I also take 7 or 8 hours of sleep. So, it should not happen. Can you suggest me some medicine that is readily available in the
market ? I don’t want to consult any doctor or physician for this minor thing..so suggest names that you could buy directly from the drug store.
Thank you a lot.

I’ve had insomnia for 5-6 years. It’s gotten worse and worse. Some nights I sleep for an hour. Some nights I never get into a deep sleep at all. Once in a while i’ll get a good 7 hours of sleep but thats pretty rare. I had a sleep study, but I actually fell asleep pretty fast that night (very rare) so I don’t think they saw how it usually is for me at night. I’ve been to so many doctors but they all proscribe the same meds that don’t work or give me a set of things to do to have better sleep hygiene (which I’ve tried several times and it never worked). It’s really effected my life. I’m in a bad mood a lot of the time and don’t have to many friends because I’d imagine I’m not the happiest person to be around. I also totaled my car from driving while exhausted and not paying full attention to the road. Can anything ever be done for me or will I just have to live with this?
oops in the title I meant for without the extra e on the end. My bad. (See, its probably from being so dand tired!)

I am home schooled and because I have a flexible schedule, I am allowed to sleep at 1:30-3:00 A.M. every single day, and wake up at 10:30-1:00 every single day. I’ve been sleeping like that for months. I want to get back to normal but I can’t, and the test is tomorrow. I can’t help but sleeping late because I’m so used to it. How will I complete the SAT test with 4 hours of sleep? Dang it.
