My friend mentioned to me the other day that whenever she pets my cat she becomes sleepy. I kind of disregarded it until more people started telling me the same thing. I guess I’ve never noticed it myself because it never came to mind that there could be an association between the two, but I also started to notice this lately – when I pet my cat I get a bit drowsy. If I was the only one experiencing this I would’ve not paid much mind to it but since others are experiencing the same thing I am curious as to how that works. I’ve read that human touch produces a hormone called oxytocin which helps people bond and also calms them – is there a similar hormone produced from a cat’s skin/fur that has the effect of calming and making a person sleepy?

I just got my living room furniture re-done and my two cats have decided to make it their own. They have been scratching here and there, and sleeping on the couch, leaving lots of fur all over. I put sheets over the furniture, but it seems silly to have new furniture that I can’t even see…I love my cats, but I need to figure this out. Thanks everyone!

He has had it for a month and nothing yet. Do they only grow back fur in the fall, even with an implant?

My ferret got his Melatonin implant over three weeks ago. It seemed to have given him more energy, but he has not even started growing any fur back and the rash on his skin has not subsided.
How long does it usually take to help?

My ferret has begun losing his fur due to adrenal disease, and I’ve heard good things about the drug Melatonin. Is it over the counter, and where can I get it for my ferrets?

My ferret got a Melatonin implant for his adrenal problems about two weeks ago. He has not started to grow any fur back yet, and his skin is still rashy. How long does it usually take for it to show any effects?
