Is it possible to snore only sometimes?

A few days ago, on a camping trip, two females (in their 20s) insisted I snored — and loudly. This past night I used an iphone app to record my so-called snoring and I could play-back particular snores.

How many snores did I get? Zero.

Either they lied, or I snore on occasion. In that case, what could be causing it when I do?

I posted this question before but my concern is growing. The center of my arm is purple, the vein in my hand looks chopped and protruding the back of my risk hurts to the touch. I went back to the dentist a few days later and he said to put warm compress on it. This did not work. It has already been a month and the bruise, swollen and chopped vein is still visible and sore. What should I do?

Hi, I’m 15 and have needed AT LEAST an hour every night to fall asleep for as long as I can remember. I have never been fully rested since I started having this problem who-knows-how-long ago. I really need help with it, though, because it is starting to really hurt me in school. Through my 9th grade year I found myself daydreaming more than I ever had before. Even before, like back to 5th grade, I never could focus easily in class and found myself taking a long time to push through my work. I am a solid A/B student and have been my whole life, but have also had trouble finishing something and not getting distracted. So, I told my mom about this because I thought that it was ADD or ADHD, but I tested negative for that. Anyways, the past few days, I’ve noticed I don’t fall asleep until 2 A.M. at the earliest and don’t wake up until 10 A.M. at the earliest. It just recently hit me that this could be insomnia when I started thinking of how this girl in my school is an insomniac. This insomnia is making it really hard to focus in school and it is also making me irritable and giving me terrible mood swings. I would blow up at people for trying to be nice and talking to me, or touching me by accident, or other ridiculous things like that. Because of this, I never do my homework when it is not graded and do it at the last minute when it is (or I should say did. I’m on break right now). I’m annoyed by nearly everything my parents or brothers do and also by really simple things that I know SHOULD NOT bother me at all, but they do. It takes me FOREVER to finish a cross stitch, no matter how small, just because I cannot concentrate on ANYTHING for a long time. Sorry if I repeated some things.

Anyways, I have an appointment with a pediatrician on July 7th for my degenerative TMJ, knee and hip joint pains, and also my acid reflux. She is supposed to be a really great diagnostician. Should I ask her about my insomnia?

Also, my mom sees no problem that it takes so long to fall asleep, but it is a big problem for me. How can I express that to her better?

I do not want an addictive sleep aide. Anything that helps insomnia for a few days? It is increasing. I don’t need a doctor. I have one.

Why am I having dreams so early?

I work for a company that does security at coal mines and I work 8 PM-8 AM, by the time 2 AM rolls around I start drifting off here and there. I just sit in my car the entire shift and can hear an electrical generator surging that’s about 200 feet away on a 10 second cycle. I have my seat leaned back about halfway when I sleep and only do so in 15-20 minute intervals, the major things I’ve noticed are that i fall asleep much easier in my car than my bed, as I’m drifting off my body feels like it’s getting numb and gets tingly when the generator surges, and I always have a dream in the few minutes that I’m asleep and can remember it down to the finest details, I’ve been researching this for the past few days and learned that dreams mainly occur in REM sleep. Is it possible to reach that stage of sleep so fast? And would I be able to wake up as easily as I do if I really was in REM sleep?

My son is nearly 18 months old now, for the past few weeks he hasn’t wanted to have a nap during the day (well only on the odd few days).
This seems was quite an early age to grow out of naps, what age was your toddler when they stopped?

Well, I live in a single efficiency apartment, & my brother stayed with me for a few days last week. I know I snore, too. But him, OMG! I have sensitive ears (hyperacusis), & I nearly cried every night & couldn’t get any sleep. Music or earplugs didn’t help. I know I need to lose this weight, but I’m not sure if it would stop me from snoring since I had nasal surgery twice as a child.

She usually goes right down and sleeps for 6 or so hours. The past few days, she has been waking up SCREAMING every hour and half or so, and the only thing that consoles her is nursing. She is not usually fussy at all. This has been a really dramatic shift in her sleeping behavior. Any advice on what is going on with her?

I am 15 and up until a few days ago I didn’t know that it isn’t normal to have difficulty sleeping. (stupid of me I know) so on average it takes me 1.5-3 hrs to fall asleep and i will often wake up multiple times during the night. however, I will occasionally have no difficulty falling and staying asleep. Is this considered insomnia or is insomnia just when you cant sleep at all?

Naps????????????????

At what age did your children stop taking naps?
I have a 4 year old that doesn’t take naps, but can’t remember when she stopped. I also have a 22 month old that usually takes about an hour nap everyday, but for the past few days has not been taking a nap, and gets VERY cranky by about 7 pm, which is too late for her to take a nap, or she would be up all night. We have not been doing anything different, such as going out shopping and such, and I am a stay at home mom, so she can always go lay in bed for her nap, which is what she usually does.

these last few days, while sitting in the bus right after work, i would feel very very sleepy. i would go to bed and sleep for about 2 hours when i reach home. am i suffering from any condition?

When does Rozerem start working?




I’ve taken it for the last two nights and did not sleep a wink – I have always suffered from insomnia, but never like this. I kept feeling like I was dozing off, but I never would. My doctor said it would take a few days before it started working, but he did not tell me it would make my insomnia worse first. Has anyone else experienced this opposite reaction?
