I’m supposed to write three papers about the subject from three points of view: one, emphasizing facts, two, appealing to the emotions of the reader, and three, building up your authority to speak on that topic.

The first one is easy because almost all my sources are reports on surveys about sleep deprivation and talking about the effects, causes, etc. But I am having a hard time thinking about anything else to write besides effects/causes.

How can I approach this from two more points of view?

Insomniac?

I’m doing research on insomnia for school and I wanted to see if anyone out there has some hands on expieriences. Like, what emotions does an insomniac feel? Do you feel more alert, or less alert then you would with sleep. And if you know people that are insomniacs, do they have behavioral differences from others?

I would really appreciate your insight. It would help me with my project a lot.

If I took melatonin during the day would it make me to tired to work? I need a vitamin or pill to take tomorrow so my emotions don’t effect me during work, so I was wondering.

How to stop having bad dreams every night?

Lately I have been having the most awful bad dreams, they aren’t like normal nightmares however. Most of the time Its situations that could actually happen, but my emotions are over dramatized and strong. Sometimes I wake up not even remembering a dream but feeling this awful overwhelming feeling of hopelessness or loneliness. They have been happening every night for a month now; I have not changed my diet or have been taking any new medication. These dreams leave me feeling absolutely depressed all day, and are really effecting how i live. How can I stop this from happening?

What is it like to have bipolar disorder?

What is it like to have bipolar disorder? Is it hard for you to sometimes know who you really are with the major mood swings? Is it hard to control your emotions when it comes to relationships? I’m curious to know.

Ever since summer started, I haven’t been able to go to sleep till around 5-8am. I know, it’s a ridiculously early time to fall asleep, but my body will not rest. I end up waking up around 1pm or 3pm at the latest, and since I’m being homeschooled this year, it’s not really a problem of when I wake up so there’s no reason for me to really fix my sleep schedule.

However, I have noticed that my eyes are starting to look really sunken in and my hands sometimes shake when I’m just relaxing. (ex: watching a movie, laying down, watching tv, reading, etc.) I keep getting muscle cramps in my chest and I feel very disoriented. I know I’ve been acting out as well, but I thought it was just the birth control making me a little more sensitive to emotions. Any way, I keep feeling like I’m going to have a panic attack, and although it’s not completely out of the ordinary for me to have them, they seem to be coming a lot more frequently and I’m feeling anxious constantly.

Is it the sleeping patterns, or something else like stress?
If it is the sleeping problems, I have no idea how to fix it. I’m pretty sure I’m an insomniac because I always seem to have troubles falling asleep, especially if I am alone in my bed.

Any suggestions?

I know that teenage girls go through a point where their emotions ‘go crazy’ do to hormones, but when you are a teenager how do you know if it’s just hormones, or if it’s bipolar disorder?

Why do people with bipolar disorder have a hard time controlling their emotions?

I know some of the side effects for Ambien include changes in appetite, mood, and many other things that have to do with emotions. Ambien can also be addictive…but what if someone became dependent on it and then after noticing personality changes, instead of taking a smaller dose, they just stop and go cold turkey? What are the symptoms of that, and what’s the harm?

Is there any side effects of taking Melatonin?

My mom recently got me melatonin due to my horrible sleeping issues. I’ve been taking it every night to help me sleep better. But ever since I have started taking it, my emotions have been out of control. The littlest things piss me off to the point of panic attacks. I’ve had three this week so far, and I haven’t been in a great mood. I was wondering if the melatonin doses could cause this? Because I have never felt like this before. Please help?

Is it possible to be addicted to Melatonin?

I’m trying to figure out if it is possible to be addicted to Melatonin, a common off-the-counter sleep-aid. If it is possible to be addicted, what are the signs? When I say addicted, I mean overdosing the substance, not taking average doses. Also what can happen if continued?
My friend told me that he takes it for other reasons. He claims that if you take enough of the substance, it shuts down some of his emotions. Since he is in a state of depression, he takes it to do this. I notice he shakes during the day, right before night comes, and he is very sleepy/exhausted.
