Sleep problems??




for the past few months or so ive been having the worst sleeping problems

no matter what time i go to sleep i always seem to wake up around 6 am and it takes me so long to fall back asleep
and once i do i just wake up again
i cant fall asleep so really i havent been getting much sleep
but the thing is im sooo tired
sleeping pills DO NOT WORK

what is going on
what can i do
i need help!

i have to sleep in complete dark and it has to be REALLY quiet
but seeing its summer and we have no AC my windows HAVE to be open
no drugs nothing like that
im only 16

I baught a bottle at the mall WITH MY OWN MONEY because I have been not being able to sleep for a while. And once she saw that I bought it she took it from me and hid it and told me I’m not allowed to do drugs.. I mean seriously it’s a natural over the counter sleeping pill. I told her she can keep it and whenever I have trouble falling asleep I can ask her for it but she still said no.

I’ve been on drugs for depression/anxiety/OCD/insomnia for 12 years, and I found almost no relief. Ambien works for insomnia, but I am addicted to it…psychologically at best. I have thought about giving away or selling all of my possessions (they are ~80% gone already - given to friends) and drifting in a hope to "find myself."

wake up at a certain time-such as 7 in the morning and or just do something tiring so it will be easier to go to sleep earlier?
Just like caffeine and other substances(not drugs,wait-drugs too (just like the one that was supposed to help me with anxiety)) After a short while- my body doesn’t tolerate it. So I have only natural methods as an option to fix any sort of internal problem.

I’ve partied all week long until around 2 AM each day. Tommorow I need to go back to class and I’m afraid that I won’t fall asleep until around 2 again. I really need to be in bed asleep by around 10-10:30. Are there any ways to make myself fall asleep without drugs or like counting sheep?

Melatonin.?




My question about melatonin is if it can be abused or not. Like if you take too much it does weird things to your body. Or because it is just a supplement is it harmless if too many pills are taken in? Honestly I’m not asking as a teenager trying to find any over the counter drugs to try and get high off of, I have a reason for wanting to know this but i cant just tell everyone. even tho you guys dont know me. any info on melatonin relating to drug abuse would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

I’ve heard of people who deprive themselves of sleep for 7 days in order to have psychedelic experiences similar to using drugs. Is that actually a safe thing to do?

In the Wikipedia article on sleep deprivation, it says one of the effects is getting a hernia. *shudder* I was actually considering doing that sometime before I read that.

If I did, would I be fine after sleeping for a few days after the fact? Or would I be causing irreversable damage to my brain/body?

How do you cure insomnia?




I kinda suffer a severe case of night insomnia…I have not been sleeping for 3 days straight now…any suggestions? I tried taking pills(not drugs) and seen a few doctors but they give me some strange medicine that taste awful…one even asked me to see a psychiatrist so I went there but the insomnia is still here…help~

cause supposedly i’ve been calling people while i’ve been sleeping. i dont know that im doing it while im sleeping but people have been telling me that i’ve called them in the middle of the night and ask them some weird questions. so i was just wondering if this is a problem other people have.
fyi i don’t drink, or do drugs, or taking sleeping meds

I’m a night owel by nature. Without the use of pills, my normal bed time is at least 2 am. I want to fall asleep without the use of drugs but it’s hard! What can I do?

I’ve had mild narcolepsy and cataplexy. I manage it w/o drugs, mostly, with naps and sometimes a good night’s sleep. In the beginning I took some antidepressants against the cataplexy and a stimulant against the daytime sleepiness, but quit when I started having babies. Now, three years later, I’m finished nursing my children and will look into something to help the daytime sleepiness in the afternoons (driving, etc.)

What’s out there now for cataplexy. I hated taking antidepressants and would rather not start them again. Any advice?

I have heard about Xyrem. Any experience with that or other drugs from those who know about narcolepsy and have experience with the current drugs would be much appreciated.

I’ve been having trouble falling asleep but never chose to do anything about it. I wanted to know if Ambien or Lunesta is the way to go. I hear these drugs might have some serious side effects. If anyone knows the best one to take with the least side effects that would be great. Also if anyone knows of any otc sleep aids..Ive tried nyquil a couple times and seemed to work only some of the time.

Is it possible to cure insomnia?




I’m not taking any drugs, legal or otherwise.
I don’t drink anything with caffeine after 6.
My room is reasonably well ventilated.
But still I wake up in the middle of the night, every night, and can’t get back to sleep for at least an hour afterwards.
Is there anything I can do about this, or am I just going to have to live with it?
