While in the army I was on ambien for sleep problems, when I got out about a year ago I tried to claim it through the VA. They denied the claim, and I tried fighting it because I was still having problems. Nothing happened, I have insurance now, and I’ve been to civilian Drs about it. Ppl are telling me I need to tell the VA and all this stuff, but I’m wondering what they would do, or what exactly I’m supposed to do? Its all over my military medical records, which I still have, but they claim it doesnt affect my ability to work or anything. So is their a reason I should contact the VA? What would I tell them?
When I went to the VA they did their evaluations for my claim, I never got a VA card, I had a couple more appointments after that. When it was denied it just said something like it doesnt affect my ability to work and stuff like that, and gave me instructions on how to fight it, so I did that, which resulted in the thing.
So to better state my question, would contacting the VA benefit me in anyway, and what should I do about it if anything?

I woke up last night in a sort of paralyzed state, which I have done before no bid deal. You realize your awake but cant do anything as in move or say anything. It has happened to me about 5 times maybe in the last few years, the only problem was this time I noticed that I was breathing very heavy, my eyes were moving around like crazy and I could do nothing about it and I seemed to be sweating.
Im not sure what happened and there is about a 1% chance I may have been dreaming. I had a sleep test done around a year ago in which I woke up over 70 times, Dr doesnt seem to worry, nor does the Nurologist. Im wondering if its possible to wake up in REM sleep mode? This would be a huge step realizing I have a sleep problem with the DRs. thanks benc

I have given my son phenergan for hives following drs directions and he is now very heavily asleep.
How long will he be drowsy for and should I wake him up after a few hours to see if he is ok?

I am suspect of sleep neurologists who keep pushing an apnea diagnosis as the problem (vs. narcolepsy, for example) even if a sleep study shows differently. It seems each dr. is located next door to CPAP machine rentals. I’m wondering if they are part owners or stock holders drumming up business. Just asking…
I’ve been to 3 drs. All said the same thing after stating the sleep tests only showed mild apnea. Sleep apnea is considered a sleep disorder and neurologists are usually the treating physician.

I woke up the other night and seemed paralyzed along with my eyes were moving rapidly and I could do nothing about it. Siezure or can you wake up in sleep stages?
My eyes were not twitching they were rapidly moving all over the place, I understand sleep paralization but not my eyes freaking out with no control. I have been in a daze for like 3-4 years, I think due to sleep. I have been to Drs, and a sleep study all looks good.

I have a 11 yr old who has narcolepsy and epilepsy. durring the summer we go and have 3 or 4 attacks a week. well when school starts the attacks go to 3 or 4 a day. She takes 2 naps at school, but the wake her up from them. any advice??
I have also notice that is she dont eay meals and snacks she has spells. does this affect it?
She can go from being a bouncing off the wall 11 yr old, to a 11 yr having to be pushed in a wheel chair. because she is so weak.
I have researched, asked, and the drs are trying to adjust meds. now. does anyone know anything that can help us, be half way normal???
