Where can I be apart of a study for chronic fatigue syndrome?

I had mono at the age of 14. My energy levels never came back. To this day I still feel like I have mono. I’m now 29. Is there a study or something that I can try to learn more about my self and help others? Is there any new things I can try? I’m tired of doctors trying to treat my symptoms of these disease. Weight gain and depression and not the disease it self.

It’s in liquid form and doctors use it on patients to make them feel a little sleepy. Now, it’s for a book I am writing, but I cannot find the name of it. If you could please give me the name of it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time for reading my question and please try to answer it as best as you can. :)
And it’s injected into the person using a needle.

My doctors think I may be allergic to Ativan, but they aren’t sure. Isn’t there a way I can be tested for this in an allergy test at the allergist office?? My doctor said they don’t test for medicines except things like penicillin and aspirin.

I am almost 35 weeks pregnant. I’ve been having difficulty sleeping and my OBGYN told me that I could take Benadryl or Tylenol PM to sleep. I asked her how often is safe, and she told me I could take it everynite. There are always conflicting opinions I am finding from doctors, fellow pregnant woman, and ofcourse online. Just wondering if any one else has been in the same situation, and if so, did you take anything. Thank You!

I have digestive problems, severe fatigue, sleep disruptions, chronic headaches and I can’t figure out what is wrong. I’ve been to countless doctors who don’t have any idea or think they know but they don’t. I think these symptoms are all related because they started around the same time when i was about 15 now I’m 21 and it’s getting worst. If you have any suggestions of what might be causing this I’d like to know. Thank you

I ve been feeling a bit weak lately and somewhat sleepy and drained out. I was just wondering how do I know if I have chronic fatigue syndrome and what are the symptoms?
I had this problem since the year 2004, but my doctors couldnt figure it out. Three of my doctors were involved and each one told me a different situation. One of them being my sleep specialist believe it was sleep apnea and perodic limb movement sndrome, the 2nd one as my internal medicine doctor believed that my thyroid could be low, and the 3rd one being my acupuncturist believed that my body isnt recieving the nutrients that I need and thus no energy. So, basically I dont know what is the main symptom that is causing me to become weak and making me sleep long hours.
I have tried provigil and it did work for a bit then after 2 weeks later I got immune to the medicine and it stopped working for me.

Today I have an appointment with my doctor to get re-evaluated (we switched our doctors) and I am possibly going to get put on medication for my bipolar disorder. I have not been diagnosed, but it is apparent that I have it. Im 17 and I was wondering what type of medication I may be put on if I am diagnosed?

Recently, I have had some stomach problems (loosely diagnosed as gastritis) and have been taking medication and eating a strict diet for almost a month. No matter what I eat, I always feel like my stomach is "unsettled" with the food inside and sometimes it plain hurts (like it’s being squeezed or sometimes, being stabbed). Haven’t had much improvement and even more recently, I’ve been unable to get to sleep. Usually I stay awake until 4-5am. I’m dead tired but I can’t fall asleep and I am always restless and sometimes, emotional for no apparent reason.

– I drink socially but not much at all anymore because of my stomach.
– I don’t drink soda or coffee or eat anything sugary.
– Only eat dinner and that usually consists of something very simple and plain.
– I get simple exercise with walking.
– I have stress at my work but it apparently is not related (stomach never hurts at work and I’ve been stressed out at work long before I started losing sleep)

I have always had some kind of stomach issue but it has always been passed off (probably because I am younger) and I have always had some kind of sleeping problem (since I can remember). It’s only recently that they got more serious (although, I have taken medication for both in the past).

Come on doctors / students / smart people. I’d like a differential to "generic stomach problem and stress".
I have tried everything I thought was possible by myself at home. I don’t drink milk or coffee at all anymore and I hardly eat anything other than rice recently (part of my strict diet).

I have been to the doctor several times and they just give me a simple but uneffective treatment and diagnose me with some generic stomach problem. I’m a 21 year old male so I don’t get taken seriously with doctors usually.

That’s why I’ve taken initiative and tried everything I can at home but nothing seems to be working.

I think I can go back to the doctor with some new information though, thank you.

I am currently 12 wks pregnant. Have been on 50 mg of Trazodone. My doctor told me to stay on it, the benefits outweighed the risks. But I have seen two other doctors and they couldnt understand why I was still taking the medicine. I am currently weaning down off of it. But I am worried that I have already done irreversable to my baby since I took it the entire first trimester. I just want to know if anyone has been pregnant and on this medicine and what the outcomes were.

Is this stupid? this is gonna sound kinda insecure..?

I am in my 4th year of university majoring in economics and in the 4th year all the classes are 3 hour seminars in which a small classroom of ppl discuss the weekly readings. Missing classes is looked down upon since you loose marks and plus it really looks like you are not taking things seriouly since most ppl at this stage of the game are plannig on some type of grad school and are presumably making mostly As and B+s. (participation overall is worth 20% of the final mark). Its not like previous years where you can miss a class here and there and no one cares/notices. At anyrate, eversince about october i have been suffering from a sleep disorder which my doctors have not been able to specifically diagnose untill lastweek – I have nocturnal myoclonus which means that my legs involuntarily spasm during sleep which apparently wakes me up about every 10 minutes (the sleeper has no memory of this) and disrupts my REM cycle, rendering me extreemly sleepdeprived – it is hard for me to be at my academic best this way as i cannot concentrate well, and am sick CONSTANTLY because lack of sleep weakens your imune system. Anyway i long ago dropped 2 of my 4 classes so that i could make good marks since the sleep thing was affecting my school work. My profs are aware of my problem and very supportive if it so i should be able to get a decent participation mark despite being absent sometimes. So now I am finally being treated for my illness. The other day, i had made a comment in class and someone responded by saying "oh yes, such and such as talking about that last time…" and some ppl giggled and rolled thier eyes at me. ‘last time’ I had an important doctors appt at the sleep clinic that i couldnt reschedule. Also, because i am severely sleep deprived, i sometimes say things that are a little strange because, well frankly its had to put sentences togeather in this state. Afterall I have trouble staying awake in class! That day it occured to me that ppl might actually be judging me for missing classes occasionaly!! Dont ppl realize that ppl have good reasons to miss classes?! Im still doing well in the classes – I have a high B+ in both of them and am aiming for an A. Are ppl actually judging me? Im not someone who generally cares what others think but this is just one more thing in my life right now that makes me go ‘ugh’.
sorry, i didnt realize that it would be that long lol!
i just started treatment the other day since my condition was only recently diagnosed specifically – before my doctors only knew it was a sleep disorder but not what kind so they couldnt treat it. Now i take pills and i feel a lot less tired

I had a sleep study done and it was found that while I do not have sleep apnea, it does take me unusually long to enter REM sleep. It takes a normal person 1 hour to enter REM sleep, while it takes me 5 hours to enter REM sleep. This results in poor quality sleep, and me being exhausted the whole next day. On average, I sleep 12 hours a night, which I’m aware is not normal. I’d like to get this corrected as fast as possible. My primary care doctor referred me to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, who has now referred me to a Neurologist. I also may be seeing a Pulmonoligist. Is there anything these doctors can do? Any surguries or medications that I can take? I’d be willing to do anything. I’m sick of being exhausted all the time.

Sleeping Aids?

I bought some 50mg diphenhydramine hydrocholoride (basic Equaline sleep aid). It says to take one. I want to sleep fast and well. Is it safe to take two to be sure? (PS I know all you doctors out there will say just follow the directions on the box, and I know that’s what you’re supposed to do all I’m asking is if it’s safe to have a little more.)

and yesterday night she slept at 4 because she couldnt go to sleep whilst at the same time this was due to having to revise big chunks of work. Today at the exam she was extremely dizzy and faint ..she goes she couldnt even write or stand up properly after. She has another one tomorow which she cant attend because she is still recovering. Her tutors say she needs a doctors note saying that she was very ill on the day but sometimes this appeal does not go through and is not accepted. Do u think her sleep problems are a good reason for not being able to attend tomorow and performing badly today? I know sleep can have a massive impact on performance in exams. Has anybody else ever had this problem?
She wants to resit these exams but is afraid they will not let her.
