I am suspect of sleep neurologists who keep pushing an apnea diagnosis as the problem (vs. narcolepsy, for example) even if a sleep study shows differently. It seems each dr. is located next door to CPAP machine rentals. I’m wondering if they are part owners or stock holders drumming up business. Just asking…
I’ve been to 3 drs. All said the same thing after stating the sleep tests only showed mild apnea. Sleep apnea is considered a sleep disorder and neurologists are usually the treating physician.

I had sleep apnea for 10 year before being diagnosed and starting treatment. I am now experiencing focus and concentration problems, and they are starting to effect my job. I have been using a C-PAP since diagnosis 10 years ago. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas what to do about it?
PS-My doctor put me on stratera, and I don’t have ADD or ADHD. Anyone else tried this?

I’m writing a book. Anyone have any experience with living with a parent/loved one with bipolar disorder? I’m particularly interested in the mania stage of the disease. The mother in my book has it and rarely, if ever (I’m in planning stages) goes through the depressive stage. Mainly just mania. Any comments/anything I need to know?
I may describe the depressive side, but it isn’t actually required to have the disorder. I do know a little bit of what’s required for diagnosis, but I don’t know what it’s like to be around someone who has the disorder.

She is 10+ years old. So I don’t want to elect surgery or use Lupron shots.
Thanks Witch 20, that was what I had heard previously. 1/2 to one mg 7 hours after sunrise. My vet has limited experience with ferrets. They can usually live for 2 years after diagnosis without treatment. As she is 10, she has 2 to 3 years remaining. Signs are swollen vulva and loss of hair on the belly. Thanks for confirming the dosage.

Hey guys, I have a question for you. I’m 22 and have been having problems with fatigue. I recently did a sleep study and the tech running it told me I had a "very low amount of time in rem sleep". Only a doc can get me a legit diagnosis and that will take two weeks for her to get around to it. What might cause REM sleep deprivation?
Also, I got stats back that say I have 89% oxygen saturation.

My husband has been seeing neurologists for these symptoms (with varying diagnosis) but has also had a history or arthritis for years now. For the most part, he has lived with the pain (mostly because he had gotten off Celebrex as it is an NSAID and too many side effects). Could it be possible that it has gotten bad enough to cause these problems too?

Tabby is a female cat and is 11years old.My cat was overweight about 6 months ago. She was put on perscription diet food by the vet. She lost weight and was back to a healthy weight. She always had some kind of snoring problem or congestion in her nose. Recently, she passed away. Luckily I wasn’t there to see what happened. My brother saw it and said she might have had a heart attack and died instantly. Is there some kind of diagnosis or treatment that I could have prevented?…. I just cant get over it.

I have daytime sleepiness and sleep paralysis, but I don’t think I have narcolepsy. My neurologist sent me to get a blood test because he suspects it….is there anyone else who has had this blood test and what can it tell? Isn’t it possible to have these symptoms without having narcolepsy? I’m afraid this type of diagnosis will hurt me in my career.
