I am afraid my loved one is suffering from a bipolar disorder. He has recently moved out from home, dropped out of school and is heading south with his life… Could it be bipolar depression? How can I help him if he doesn’t want to be helped?

So during depression, you might be a bit under par or unsociable at school or work, but when you get home you might be in absolute rages with your loved ones.
During mania, you would act silly and hilarious at home or school, and at home just stay up all night with racing creative thoughts.
Does this or can this happen if you have bipolar? I am really interested to know so please do reply : )
Does this happen when you have bipolar or would you act the same everywhere with everyone?

what to do about fatigue aand sleepiness?

I am constantly extrememly fatigued, I take welbutrin xl for depression which is suppose to actually give you energy.
Is in anyone else out there having this problem?
Have you have ever heard of the doctor prescibing something like adderall to counter act the fatigue, or any other suggestions?

I’ve been advised to take melatonin to help with my sleeping, i’ve always had terrible sleeping patterns so while it may be connect to my depression, it’s not entirely that reason. And i asked users on here and they told me to try St. John’s Wort. Has anyone heard that these can help? anny other suggestions or where to get natural medicine that would help me?

I know they say depression can cause fatigue, but my fatigue is extreme, i sleep 12-16 hours a day and am still tired all day. I have no desire to do anything and get pleasure from almost nothing. Sleep is the only way also to stop thinking obsessivee thoughts.

I have tried so many drugs in a bid to control my Bipolar Disorder but nothing seems to help or has hellish side effects. I would like to give Lithium a go but my psychaitrist is reluctant. I am predominately affected by depression but also rapid cycle. Does anyone have any experience of Lithium, good or bad?

I’ve been suffering from insomnia due to depression/antidepressant tablet side affects and so i bought tescos sleep aid herbal tablets
But upon reading the guidelines for it, it says do not take if you suffer from depressive illnesses
Can anyone tell me why this is? Would it really be that risky for me to take them anyway?

Why do people 60 and over have so much trouble sleeping? Is it because their pineal gland makes very little to no melatonin? Is it due to depression or lack of activity? Not getting enough light?

Some just can’t fall asleep without pills. Some "elderly" people have little trouble falling asleep, but have trouble staying asleep. Why is this?

I’m talking about depression and schizophrenia mainly. It’s been documented that people who are deprived of sleep for long periods of time will show symptoms of psychosis, and people with depression tend to sleep in longer and feel fewer symptoms when they are well-rested. Could the conscious behavior of the mentally ill be symptoms of prolonged improper sleep, as if only a part of their brain had chronic insomnia and was the source of the malfunction?

I have been suffering with sleep apnea for months now. After waiting three stressful weeks for the machine to arrive, I used it but only managed to get 3 hours of sleep. I also noticed, that before I had the machine my average time spent sleeping decreased. Tonight I am fully awake and I cannot sleep at all. Is it possible to have sleep apnea and insomnia together? I have serious depression already, so I think that this is a logical explanation. What do I do?

Where can I be apart of a study for chronic fatigue syndrome?

I had mono at the age of 14. My energy levels never came back. To this day I still feel like I have mono. I’m now 29. Is there a study or something that I can try to learn more about my self and help others? Is there any new things I can try? I’m tired of doctors trying to treat my symptoms of these disease. Weight gain and depression and not the disease it self.

Okay, I basically have Social Anxiety Disorder and Depression and Fatigue.
Fatigue being the main problem, leads me to feeling tired all the time not wanting to do anything every which bring me to the rest I listed. I always turn my alarm off because I’m too tired and I have no point for waking up and enjoying the rest of the day.
How can I feel more alive and ready for anything?
