How do I stop from being addicted to benzodiazepines?

I’ve been on Cymbalta (it’s been am miracle drug for my depression) for some time and generally use clonazepam more-so to sleep than for anxiety. I’m not taking it as much for panic attacks anymore. But when I try not to take anything for sleep, I just don’t sleep as well or not at all.

Can switching between two different of benzodiazepines help me avoid addiction?

Namely between clonazepam and terazepam say 1 week and 1 week.
I am treated by benzodiazepine from chronic neuropathic pain (burning pain and numbness in trigeminal region) that is resistant to normal pain medications (Neurontin and tegretol for example).
I think the origin of the pain and numbness is multiple sclerosis attack.

Is it bad that my boyfriend takes two sleeping pills?

My boyfriend takes clonazepam (only .5 mg) every night for panic attacks and sleep issues. However, they no longer work for his insomnia, so he started taking a regular sleeping pill (which has helped a lot). Could this be bad for him?

Is there a cross tolerance between Ambien & benzodiazepines?

I know there are cross tolerances with all the benzodiazepines, such as if you have a tolerance to clonazepam you will thus have a tolerance to lorazepam, alprazolam, diazepam, etc., but I was wondering if you have a tolerance to one of these medications will you also have tolerance to ambien? Ambien and the benzos are nearly identical in composition. Please help with information. Please do not flag this as innapropriate; I’ve tried searching countless times for an answer and still can’t get any information. Thanks!

Tapered off methadone now have insane!!! insomnia and anxiety?

I tapered off methadone down from 140mg. I am sick of it. I am 3 days free of it now and cannot sleep to save my life. But i have acquired 4 Valiums 10mg. 4 10mg tablets from a freind of mine. The questuon is, is it alright for me to use JUST these four to get me through the next couple of days. So i can relax and sleep. I am soooo restless its insane. I cant sit still my legs keep jumping and moving. ITs the worse restlessness i’ve ever had.I havent felt this wound up in my life and I used to do alot of crack and was prescribed adderall for 6 years..but this is wayyy worse im ten times more wound up. I need some relief BADLY. Would takng JUSt the 4 10mg tablets put me at risk of addiction? I had a Clonazepam addiction for about 3 years and managed to get off them. I’ve been off the clonazepam for a month but am worried that the valium tablets will spark a desir for the benzos again. But I canot get access to anymore valiums or clonazepams. period. Can somebody give me thre opinion and some advice i really need it..like now :/
Jennifer: as much as i dont want to agree.. i know you’re 100% right :( I guess i should flush the valiums and go for a jog and wear my self out that way! i’m gnna flush them cause you made an excellent point that i am using insomnia as an excuse

Is it okay to use clonazepam as a sleep aid?

I’m prescribed clonazepam for the side effects of abilify but I find I can’t sleep. Clonazepam seems to allow me to sleep but I find I’m taking more and more. Currently I’m taking my two prescribed tablets plus six for sleep and then another two during the night to get me back to sleep. Should I be worried. I’ve tried zopiclone but it seemed to have no effect.

Has anyone here suffered from clomazepam (klonopin) withdrawal? How long did the symptoms last?

Are you now back to normal? I have been suffering from clonazepam withdrawal for 7 weeks now. The symptoms just won’t go away (hypertension, inner tremor, tingling in limbs, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc.) I just want to know if there is light at the end of the tunnel.
