Has anyone ever tried this?

If you have trouble getting a good night’s sleep, try this all natural sleep aid. (It will take some preparation but it will be worth it.)

30 minutes before bed:

Drink one small glass of warm milk.
Drink one small cup of Chamomile tea.

Take the daily recommended dose of zinc
Take the daily recommended dose of magnesium
Take the daily recommended dose of vitamin B6

(It’s OK to take a multi B complex as well, but B6 is the one you’re really looking for here.)

You will be amazed how well you sleep, especially during the morning hours roughly between 4am and 8~9am. Your REM cycles will be deeper, last longer and take you to the distant worlds of the dream time realm.

Remember that if you get enough zinc, magnesium and B6 in general you will sleep better, but if you take them all regularly, the "impact" will be lessened. I usually do this when I have the next day off and can sleep in. Do you know any other ways to get a good night’s sleep? Please tell me!

I am thinking about making some chamomile tea and having a melatonin (I’ve been having a hard time falling asleep before 4-5am) will this be ok to do? I had tylenol about 3 hours ago.

natural cures to sleep problems?

I have, well…just about every kind of sleep problem I can think of at one time or another. I am going to go to a sleep specialist at some point, but it keeps getting put off. I have heard all the traditional methods for helping sleep…no caffine, set scheduel, bath before bed, light excercise, sleepytime/chamomile tea, anything lavendar, relaxing music, no noise…
Is there anything out there I might be missing to help me until I can get to see someone? I’ve dealt with this my whole life, but with a family it is just getting harder and more annoying to deal with.

need help with insomnia relief?

my doctor diagnosed me with general insomnia
that i’ve been dealing with for over a year now.
although, she refuses to prescribe me any type of sleeping pill
because i’m only 20 years old.

anyone have any advice?
i’ve tried all the OTC products containing diphenhydramine
but that never works. i’ve chamomile tea, watching and NOT watching tv, not eating and all that stuff two hours prior to bed..
everything, i’m out of ideas.

i used to use nyquil but i know its unhealthy so i’m trying to find something other than that to try.

thankss!

I have tried drinking chamomile tea, relaxing breathing, counting, playing games, reading. Nothing seems to work. This has only been like this the past month or so.
Do you know what it could be or know of any natural ways to help me fall asleep?

I have always had difficulty sleeping. When I still had medical insurance, I was able to take Ambien, which was a tremendous help. Since going on disability and losing my insurance, I’ve been stuck trying to cope with my insomnia symptoms on my own, and suffice it to say, I’m at my wits end.

I can’t seem to fall asleep before 7am or 8am, and I tend to sleep only around 3 hours. I’m left completely listless, with no energy to get anything done during the day.

The things I’ve tried thus far are:

Herbal tea: chamomile, sleepytime, catnip – no help.
Melatonin: only succeeded in giving me bad headaches
Valerian & Lemon Balm: most recent attempt, no results as of yet
St. John’s Wort: No effect.
Meditation: Relaxing, sure, but I still don’t sleep.
Reducing my caffeine intake: No effect
Not eating past a certain time: No effect
Getting more exercise, sunlight, etc.: Made me more tired, but didn’t help me fall asleep any.
Followed all the "sleep hygiene" rules they give you about noise, room temperature, etc.

I’m at my wits end at this point, and it seems my only option is to force myself awake til I pass out from sheer exhaustion. If anyone has any suggestions on something I haven’t tried, I’d be willing to have a listen.

It sucks knowing there’s a medication out there that can help, and having no access to it.
Figures, I forgot to mention OTC sleep meds, yes I’ve tried Unisom, and the other over the counter sleep meds as well – both the diphenhydramine ones and the non-diphenhydramine ones. Sorry, I’ve had a spliting headache for about 5 days now from this.

I’m bipolar, and my insomnia is attributed to my bipolar disorder.
Tried sex, tried baths, tried showers, tried aromatherapy. No effect.

How do you like/dislike the new sleep aid, ROZEREM?

If you’re taking Rozerem, the newest prescription sleep aid, or if you’ve taken it before, I’d love to know what you do or don’t like about it. :)

I’ve been thinking of asking my doctor for it, as it apparently has zero capacity to become "addictive". It also sounds like the most "natural" drug in how it works. FYI: I don’t need sleep help all the time. I only need help when I have to go to bed abnormally early on a particular night, due to having to rise abnormally early the next morning.

My normal "sleep onset" is somewhat late, but that’s OK usually, since my work schedule is flexible and my commute is short. HOWEVER, if I need to be up super-early to catch a plane, leave for a roadtrip, etc., I’d ideally like to go to bed extra early the night before. But, no luck!! :( I’ve tried chamomile, Benadryl, melatonin, meditation, warm baths — I just can’t fall asleep at a time my body &/or brain perceives as "way too early".

THAT’S when I hope a pill like Rozerem can help! :)
