I’m 21 and as long as I can remember i’ve had sleeping problems. My mom said at age 3-4 she would find me cleaning my room at 2 or 3am. I usually go to bed around 10, just after my daughter and lay awake for hours. In the morning i am extremely tired, then at 4 or 5pm i feel like i NEED to sleep. Lately i’ve had alot on my mind (flashbacks to being raped by my brother from age 7-11). In the last 5 years or so, i’ve tried sleeping pills, chamomile tea before bed, vigorous exercise during the day, nighttime yoga, breathing exercises, and i do not drink anything besides OJ, milk and water. Does anyone know what I could do besides going to my doc? I’m already on pills for my anxiety, but i feel this may be the cause of everything.

I’m 14 and I don’t like to eat with my family because we live in the South and the food is really fattening. I only eat about 1,000 calories a day which is easy because I’m home alone with my 8 year old brother till about 5. Well when my parents come home I go straight to my room and the only way I can get out of eating is by sleeping. My dad has a lot of sleeping aids in the kitchen cabinet and I just want to know if I take them will it hurt me or will they be able to tell ?

im wondering what exactly bipolar is and what it does to you? i read some things on the enternet, but i cant really get it though my head very well and i want to know from peoples opinion as well.

i also think that i might be bipolar, or just depressed
no, no one really says anything. except for my brother, hes always saying that im depressed or something. and that i never smile unless he says something about someone that i like, which is true. usually i never smile unless that person comes up in the conversation
well sometimes i get REALLY mad, but then when something funny happens or something i start to laugh so hard. when that happened, my mom looked at me like something weird happened

My mama claims she used it on my brother and I when we were babies to help with all sorts of things. I mentioned to her that my son who is 5 1/2 months is teething really bad and just will not sleep recently. She suggested the tea, I’m however a little leery of herbal remedies so I wanted to see what everyone elses take on it was. Thanks!

Well, I live in a single efficiency apartment, & my brother stayed with me for a few days last week. I know I snore, too. But him, OMG! I have sensitive ears (hyperacusis), & I nearly cried every night & couldn’t get any sleep. Music or earplugs didn’t help. I know I need to lose this weight, but I’m not sure if it would stop me from snoring since I had nasal surgery twice as a child.

I am taking the SAT tomorrow morning. I have to wake up at 5:45 because of DST. I plan go to sleep as late as 10:15, and as early as 8:45, so I complete full sleep cycles. So do sleeping pills lower your ability to concentrate the next morning? my brother says that they make you feel very awake, but i want to clarify here if that means lower concentration.
and would you recommend taking half a dosage instead of a full one? etc…
I should probably mention that taking the pills are probably going to be nessecary to fall asleep at the times i mentioned up

This guy is a big ass samoan dude on the heavy side, who happens to be my brother in law…lol. Right now I have to "neutralize" the snoring by placing my outdated 300mhz p2, 3ft tall tower next to the wall. I don’t even use it other than to battle the snoring…which doesnt work cause the snoring is straight up in the bass frequency range (super long range prenetration). I cant chop his head off, or wish him dead, so I have to find another method. Can I hang a poster sized sheet of Dynamat? Can a smaller piece of dynamat soundproof a larger area or does it have to cover the actual area the sound is transmitted through. Any cheap methods? Keeping it thin is a plus! I don’t know how women friggin’ stay asleep…unless its a thing only female physiology can handle…like childbirth?
I hate wearing earplugs. My ears get all sweaty eventually and I cant sleep from the noise bouncing around in my head, whatever that is, you know, you can hear yourself breathing loud. Any sound engineers out there?

I have a brother who’s snoring can be heard through just about every room of the house. We are in college now and his neighbor told me about the horrible snoring they have to endure from the opposite side of the wall. If you’ve tried it or know somebody that said it works please answer.

I can never sleep when i want to – sometimes i’ll lie in bed, doing nothing, for hours just trying to sleep and failing. I always end up getting about 3 hours sleep every night, if i’m lucky. i’m 13. i have a really stressful family life – mum has schizophrenia, brother has depression, my dad’s run off with another woman and is always ruining everything, etc.
i have trichotillomania (basically OCD) and yeah, so do i have insomnia? how can i cure it? i get really agitated at school and hate homework, so much to the point where i start smashing up stuff if i have to do too much, so do i have insomnia and how do i cure it?

Ok, my MIL is 50 and recently has been experiencing Anxiety, Depression and I have always suppected a bipolar disorder…she has been in and out of the hospital. I am just the DIL so I don’t know all the facts but from what her kids have said is that she is depressed but now she is in the hospital again and one of her kids say that the doctor said she is bi-polar and the other kid says that she is not and that she is acting fine now…and my husband has no clue cause he hasn’t talked to the doc…so my question is, can a woman who is 50 and previously healthy develop a bipolar disorder? My husband said that his brother said no but I am a Psych major and I am pretty sure that in one of my classes we covered that ….anyway, also I have witnessed differences in her like one day we went over with the kids and she was calm and then all of the sudden she is on the floor crawling, jumping and running and chasing my son and I thought that was odd cause she has never acted like that before and
