I just want to know why my body gets set on a certain sleep pattern and won’t break out of it?
This week, I’ve been in severe pain from pulled a muscle, so I haven’t been able to get to sleep til about 2 hours past my normal bed time. My sleep got out of whack on wednesday, and now I can’t for the life of me fall asleep at my normal time now.
Why does the body do this? Why won’t it let you sleep when your brain wants to?

Hello people
Okay so I remember having weird dreams and these dreams happen randomly. They feel so real (about the unknown). So after this I had found a deep aspiration about the unknown inside of me. I recall its based on the enigma’s of science, my curiosity, the Quran, and based on these dreams. So my questions is that I an a sentient being knows that dreams are based off chemical and electrical combinations in the REM (Random Eye Movement) cycle of sleep and it is composed of inner thoughts and images the brain conjures, but the thing is I cannot remember any of it, and they feel so real and like weird, and sometimes they feel like awkward and they feel familiar or something like that. I sometimes have what you say deja vu type things of the unknown and when ever i think it confuses me. So I am wondering why is that so?

I am starting to feel weak just doing little exercise. My blood was tested at doctor’s office and turned out to be perfectly normal. I also had an ekg done on my heart and that turned out perfectly healthy as well. I have been eating a variety of foods, and eating as much as i ever have eaten. My brain is also feeling extremely worn down. I am only 19 years old.

If I find myself awake at 3-4AM and I have to be up at 5AM to get ready for work, is it better for my brain to sleep 1-2 hours or to just stay awake until the next night and just go to sleep early? Anyone have a scientific or medical explanation for this. I have heard it is better to just stay awake, but seems I feel just as tired throughout the day either way!

Does God create our dreams?
If he does, why are we able to control and manipulate them in lucid dreams – dreams that we are aware we are actually dreaming?
Aren’t dreams just impulses from our brain creating various situations? Even at best, it is only described as created by our subconscious with no conscious or intelligent design.
How can we so easily re-create the world around is in our minds every single night? How can even animals dream?
If the world to seven whole days to be created by God, why can we make so many un-experienced situations (running from monsters, flying) occur in our own brains within a few minutes during our REM dream cycle?
Should God be only able to do that?

Drugs which can enter the brain causes side-effects such as drowsiness. the barrier between the general blood circulation and the brain is lipophilic in nature. if the medicine is found to cause drowsiness identify, with reasons, which component you think is most likely to be responsible. please tell me the reason for it and the componenet you think. please please. thanks in advance

I think it’s really interesting, but there’s not much you can do with it.
One time, in class, we learned that ppl w/ seasonal affective disorder can lie under UV lamps and that makes them better. & in Alaska ppl have to sit by windows b/c they need light to feel happy.
& also stuff like how your brain processes information better while you’re sleeping & in REM cycle.
Right now, I’m leaning b/t majoring in biology and psychology. But a lot of what our psych prof goes over is boring and he skips a lot of the interesting stuff. & I’m hating chem lab.
Right now, I have a good grade in chem class, which is actually really hard to do, b/c I work my butt off but I really hate lab.
I’m rather clutzy and absentminded so I have to start over or get stuck and I’m always the last one out.

I asked this before, but I just want more people to respond, the others were very good, thank you.
Have you had, or know of any stories about near death experiences? This is for personal research. I am talking about what you saw, felt, and the circumstances of the situation.
By the way, it’s been proven that there is a chemical called DMT, it occurs naturally in our brain, and our brain gives us an overload of it when we die. It is also the chemical responsible for creating our dreams during the REM sleep cycle.

I have found that if i wake up about 1-2 hours after i’ve fallen asleep, (to go to the bathroom or get a drink).. my thought processes are significantly faster and clearer..
Does this have to do with REM sleep, and how your brain is working fast?

It’s not that I can’t stay asleep, I can’t get too sleep. I’ve tried music, Reading, excercise, all that stuff. I’m stressed, and I have major ear ringing and I get headaches because when I’m not paying attention to anything, I think too much, and I think it’s because my brain is too active that I can’t sleep. Opinions/solutions please.

How do you make yourself fall into a deeper sleep. I notice that sometimes I find my brain thinking about other things & its hard for me to sleep.

I have Hypothyroidism and sleeping problems, I was wondering if they might be connected.
I think I might have had what ‘nursekuba’ described before, but as far as sleeping problems I mean trouble falling asleep. I have no trouble staying asleep once I am asleep, but I just can’t seem to turn my brain off and fall asleep.
