I need to know some of the long term and short term effects (both physical and mental/emotional) of using benzodiazepines, which are minor tranquilizers like xanax, valium, librium etc.

I was wondering if there Is there any test for diazapam (valium) and that will not test positive for any other benzodiazepines that will test the pill itself or urine .ect from a user.

Also, which are more effective. I wanted to know their mechanisms, how both work, how they are similar and how they are different, and if they’re both effective in treating depression/anxiety/panic, or neither, or what.
From what I’ve heard vaguely, SSRI’s actually treat it all while the benzodiazepines just..act as a short term fast relief and calm you down, but don’t actually do much else for you, mechanism wise.

I will be taking .5 mg of Triazolam tomorrow morning for wisdom teeth removal. I am hoping that this will eliminate anxiety and fear of the procedure.

I have never taken any benzodiazepines before, and my stomach will be empty. I weigh around 150 lbs. How will this effect me?

I found out recently that Valerian Root would bring false positives in a standard drug dest under the class of Benzodiazepines. Since Valerian Root is a derivative of Diazepam, do they have the same duration period of detection? Thank you for your time. Have a nice day everyone!

(Lorivan is a lorazepam one of the "classical" benzodiazepines)

When I take a Lorivan tablet it can take me from 24 hours to 5 or 7 days for the drowsiness to go away.

Does this (drowsiness side effect) mean its dangerous for to take a lorivan pill?

My sister had bad postpartum with her first child. She is expecting again, but this time around, she is afraid of getting really bad panic attacks again. I know you can take Zoloft while pregnant but that doesn’t quite work while having a panic attack episode. Are there any safe Benzodiazepines for pregnancy?

I won’t specify what personality disorder I have but I am on 2 Benzodiazepines (Xanax XR & Serax) 1 Sedative-Hypnotic: which i only take when I have bad insomnia. I have also had my period the last 2 days . Could that have made me more depressed? I obviously need a medication adjustment. I just don’t know who to trust anymore. All these shrinks are pill pushing lying crooks.

What are the MAJOR risks of mixing Benzodiazepines with Cocaine?

For a drug report in my Health class. I read on the net users of Cocaine take Benzodiazepines to suppress or lower the coming down of Cocaine, however, is it risky/fatal?

Looking for exact risks and such.

I understand that ethanol is toxic to the human body, in particular the liver. But benzodiazepines and alcohol have cross-tolerance, which is why benzodiazepines are prescribed to treat dangerous withdrawal. But are benzos toxic in any way themselves?

Just curious. Of course, an over-dose of benzos might be considered ‘toxic’; the same with alcohol, but do these molecules themselves pose any danger to the lives of cells in the human body?

I know there are cross tolerances with all the benzodiazepines, such as if you have a tolerance to clonazepam you will thus have a tolerance to lorazepam, alprazolam, diazepam, etc., but I was wondering if you have a tolerance to one of these medications will you also have tolerance to ambien? Ambien and the benzos are nearly identical in composition. Please help with information. Please do not flag this as innapropriate; I’ve tried searching countless times for an answer and still can’t get any information. Thanks!

I have tried EVERY sleeping pill. (literally)
I am now on the maximum dose of Lunesta.
It no longer works and it’s only been a week.
when I take it I’m not even tired or able to sleep.

What should I do and how can I get some sleep?!
I have tried all the benzodiazepines.
Does lithium put you to sleep? are there any Other Types of meds that might work?
