How many naps does your baby take during the day?

Our baby is 6 months old. We’re having sleep troubles with him. He is snack napping during the day. He takes 3 20 minute naps and by bed time he is so tired he screams for 30+ minutes before he finally falls asleep. It’s quite a project getting him to bed…

How do your babies sleep during the day? Any suggestions to get mine to sleep just a little longer during the day?
We have a routine. Bed time is the same time and place daily. He knows it is sleepy time too. His dead give away is rubbing his eyes.

Difficulty Sleeping!!!?

In need of some suggestions for a natural sleeping aid.
When bed time arrives, I normally lay in bed and watch some television until I become very tired, and then I fall into a deep restful sleep.
The problem arises after I’ve been sleeping for some time.
I just completely wake up after about one hour. I’m wide awake and then go back to sleep. This pattern happens all through the night. I wake up at least 4-6 times each night.
There is NEVER a night when I sleep straight through.
This has been going on for about 4 months, and yes I’ve tried to pin point some type of change in my lifestyle, but cannot put my finger on anything specificly.

During the day, thank goodness I don’t become tired, but believe me, by 10pm I am ready for the bed and then the same ritual begins once again.

Would greatly appreciate any healthy suggestions!!

I’ve been having troubles falling asleep until late in the morning and need to have my biological clock set for an earlier bed time. Does anyone have any ways that does not require prescription drugs to fall to sleep faster?

Lunesta…?

My doctor diagnosed me with insomina on Friday and gave me a few samples of Lunesta (2 mg) to try. I’ve been taking a pill every night 20-30 minutes before bed time, but they don’t seem to work. I do not get sleepy at all, still lay there for an hour before falling asleep, wake up several times during the night, and get up before i’m supposed to, plus i’m still extremely groggy during the day.

i was just wondering if anyone else had tried Lunesta and had the same problems with it not seeming to work..if so, what step did you take next? did you try anohther sleeping medication? my doctor said i could go on a higher dosage, i was just surprised that 2 mg/night didn’t seem to have any effect whatsoever..

My boyfriend has 100mg seroquel that he just started on today. We gave him one this morning, a couple hours ago, and now he is passed out snoring. I then read online, you should administer at bed time. This is not a serious side effect is it?

How to fall asleep easier and faster at night?

It takes me forever to fall asleep at night. Especially after a weekend or a break, when I’m trying to get back into my bed time for school. I heard exercising before bed, drinking warm milk, and listening to classical music help. Any other tips on how to fall asleep easier and stay asleep through the night? Last night I kept waking up randomly, and it would be hard to go back to sleep.
And then, in the morning, I’m soooo tired and I don’t want to get up.

Sleep problems???????????????????

I just want to know why my body gets set on a certain sleep pattern and won’t break out of it?

This week, I’ve been in severe pain from pulled a muscle, so I haven’t been able to get to sleep til about 2 hours past my normal bed time. My sleep got out of whack on wednesday, and now I can’t for the life of me fall asleep at my normal time now.

Why does the body do this? Why won’t it let you sleep when your brain wants to?

There’s this job that I’m trying to get that is from 10:30 pm to 6 am. It PAYS, it’s a piece of cake, and I’m more of a night owl than a morning person anyways. However, I don’t see when I would get all my sleep really….. I have school at 1:40pm so I at least need to be awake by 1pm. By the time I drive home and everything from the job, it’d be around 7AM. So I’d have approx 6 hours of sleep (give or take, because I tend to lay there for a long time before I actually fall asleep) before school. Actually probably less than that if I want to eat lunch. I get out of school at 3:15, and home around 3:40 (the traffic is awful). Then sometime in the evening (very flexible and not necessary a specified time I need to be there, but it takes at least 3 hours) I need to go out to the barn and clean stalls (my other job). I don’t necessarily need to do this every single evening, but at least 4 times a week.

So right now my schedule is:

1:40 pm – school
3:15 – get out of school
3:40 – get home
5-8 pm – clean stalls (although again, I don’t do this every single evening, just four evenings a week give or take a few).
3 AM – bed time ;-]

So I do have a lot of free time, however, I don’t know when I would get all my sleep. I would be able to get 5-6 hours of sleep before school, and possible squeeze in 2-3 hours of sleep after school somehow to get my full 8 hours (although I normally like to go for 10 hours or so LOL ;-]
But my problem is, can I still get through enough REM cycles when I split up my sleep into sections like that? a sleep cycle is 90 minutes, correct? I’m just worried that I can’t really split my sleep up like this and still allow my body to go through what it needs to go through during sleep.

BTW I’m an 18 year old female… if my diet is relevant, I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t take vitamins. Oh, and as far as medications, I take Zoloft.
LOL and now it’s gone because someone reported it so you look like your on crack because you’re making a comment about nothing LOL!!!

How can I fall asleep with him in the bed?

I have been recently having trouble sleeping in my boyfriend’s bed(a queen with two pillows and one big blanket.) When I am alone in the bed I fall asleep no problem but as soon as he gets in the bed I am tossing and turning and can’t get comfortable. I wake up 2-3 times a night after I finally fall asleep and when I wake in the morning I feel like I only slept 5 minutes.

When we sleep in my bed (which is a twin with loads of pillows, soft sheets and big fluffy blankets) it still takes me a minute or two to get comfy but then I am out like a light and wake up feeling refreshed.

MY one suspicio is that his bed isn’t comfortable enough for me, but the thing is when he’s not init I sleep just fine. We have a very loving relationship so I know my subconcious isn’t trying to get my attention, but what the heck? How can I deal with this?
We have been together for almost a year and been sleeping in each other’s beds for almost as long. He doesn’t snore or anything. When I wake up I am awake for 20 minutes to an hour each time, so it’s not like I wake up and then roll over and get back to sleep. I work early in the morning and he works late at night and so I try to stay up until he gets home or comes over and that’s the perfect bed time, but not being able to sleep isn’t working for me.

My doc prescribed 5mg of Ambien to take as needed at bed time for "restless leg syndrome". I take it most nights and it helps a lot and doesn’t make me feel groggy which is good. But I’m a little concerned about my baby. I’ve been taking it for a couple weeks on and off. I still feel him move regularly and my doctor did prescribe it so she must know what she’s doing, I’m just concerned. Any personal experiences?

My 11 week old son has been sleeping a lot more than usual. He sleeps almost all day and night. He wakes up for 20min-1 hour to be fed(sometimes doesn’t actually wake up) but then sleeps for 2 1/2 -3 hours during the day. He usually sleeps a good 6 hours at bed time. He used to stay up a couple hours at a time during the day. He has also been drooling a lot the past couple days and a little crankier than usual.

Insomnia advise please?

I’m a chronic insomniac and have been working with my DR. on the problem for the past 8 years. Any ideas on what can help. Here’s what hasn’t. Gave up caffine, bedroom used for sleeping only (no tv), regular exercise, routine bedtime rituals, not eating after a certain hour, hot bath 90 min before bed time. Making my bed the most comfortable place I know. Hypnosis (cured my smoking habit so I thought I’d try). Fan on in bedroom to drown out noises that could wake me up when I do fall asleep, aroma therapy, calming music, and reading books. OTC’s like including tylonol pm, and Nyquil. (works for a coupled days then doesn’t) RX such as Lunesta, Ambien and Rozerem (to mention a few) all with no results. The only thing that gives relief at all is Xanex, but it’s controlled and after 5 years on it, my tolerance is very high and it’s not working well anymore. Any suggestions? I need to get some sleep! Thanks
**oh, and I forgot to mention all the herbal products I tried. Please help.
I asked the dr about a sleep study, but she says it’s not sleep apnea, so it wouldn’t help. I asked for other benzos and she says I’ll have the same tolerance. I’m on both an antidepressant and an antihistamine, neither of which helped. Some great answers though. As for the pot, if it could be prescribed I absolutely would try, but at this time, it’d cost me my career. We have manditory testing at my job. Oh yeah, I’ve done the graveyard shift too. Same issue only worse. I know it seems I have an answer for almost anything, but keep trying please. 8 years is far too many and I’m fed up. Thanks so much!!
