reading books before bed = bags under eyes next day?

i don’t normally read before bed, but on the times that i have actually read before bed (about an hour until my eyes are kinda sore/tired), i get bags under my eyes the next day. these are signifcantly darker/purpler than normal and extend further around.

is this simply caused by reading at night or maybe im reading in too low light? i use a booklight which is dim, is that not advisable?
im interested in other peoples experience with this and whether it is normal and what type factors they do to be able to read at night comfortably!

How to fall asleep in 15 minutes or less?

I’m 14 years old and I have a lot of trouble falling asleep. I get more than 60 minutes of exercise every day, I don’t ever take naps, I eat and drink like I’m supposed to and I’m not doing anything I shouldn’t be doing but I just can’t fall asleep at night! I usually have bags under my eyes when I go to school and I can’t stand being tired all of the time! Any tips or techniques to help? (school day starts at 8:00 & I get up at 6:30)

How best to cure insomnia quickly?

I am only thirteen years and since the end of primary school I’ve had trouble sleeping, I rarely get to sleep before 1 or 2 in the morning and I am always exhausted for school, I can’t remember when I didn’t have bags under my eyes from lack of sleep.
I can be completely exhausted to the point where I feel too tired to walk upstairs but as soon as I hit the pillow, wide awake. I feel boiling hot to the point where I can be sweating, though no one else has trouble in my room so I don’t believe it is today with the actual room temp. No matter what and I just cannot sleep or get comfortable.
I have tried listening to music and reading in bed but neither of these things or helping but it is getting really hard to keep up energy when going off so little sleep and seeing as I’m not building the energy back up at weekends I’m just getting tireder if anything.
Any ideas on how I can get to sleep easier?

I get home from sports around 10pm. I always have trouble falling asleep and it makes me tired the next day.Regulating my sleep schedule isn’t an option with an everchanging sports schedule. Does anyone have tips for a better sleep, staying alert in the day time, or prevention from bags under my eyes?

How to fall asleep fast!?

I’m a teen and I know I need at least 8-9 hours of sleep. Yesterday I couldn’t sleep. I slept for 1 hour then woke up at 1:30 and stayed up until 3am. I woke up at 6:30 because I had to take a shower & go to school. I’m really tired, I have bags under my eyes & I know they don’t look so attractive. It takes me at least 1-3 hours to fall asleep again. My eyes hurt (sting?) whenever I open them but I still can’t fall asleep. I was an in a comfortable position & I was very warm.

Why can’t I fall asleep? I don’t want to take Meds because I know my parents wont agree.
Please tell me a way to fall asleep fast because I need all the sleep I can get!!

I graduated from college about a year and a half ago. Since then I have had horrible problems, I don’t know if its a combination of realizing the last twenty years of my life were a waste, getting my heart broken, or not planning for the future.

I guess since I had no set schedule and I worked in the summer late nights I had horrible problems sleeping. I would sleep every other night over the summer, go to bed at weird hours, and if I did sleep wake up feeling like I didn’t sleep.

As a result I had depression, gained weight, had hopeless thoughts, no energy, headaches, couldn’t concentrate, and was generally spaced out. I was also just wacky, I would do stuff I never would have thought I would in a million years. I would say weird stuff, do weird things, take stupid chances that in some instance almost got me killed. I don’t think I was completely sane during some times this year. I had bags under my eyes.

Could not sleeping cause all this?
I am sleeping normally now, and I feel AWSOME.
How did I do it? I hit rock bottom.

Persistent sleep problems?

I persistently have problems trying to go to sleep. I don’t watch tv before I go to bed and I avoid caffeine after 4 pm. I either can’t sleep til really late, like 3 am or so or I crash early and then still can’t wake up in the morning or if I do I’m exhausted.

I wake up with ugly purple bags under my eyes. I’m a young adult (21) but look 30 because of this. Not only that it’s beginning to affect my school schedule. Either I go to class exhausted and rarely feeling rested or I sleep through my alarm.

PLEASE help. I NEED to fix this insomnia problem!! I have a MUCH harder semester coming up this week and an exam this Monday…if I sleep in on Monday I’ll fail.

What are effective ways to treat this problem? I already have an eye mask but what else can I try? ie. techniques, drinks, etc

How do you get rid of bags under your eyes?

I’m very active during the day, and I don’t drink caffeine or anything before I try to sleep, but I always get insomnia and can’t fall asleep. My doctor says it’s not a big problem, and it’s not efecting my health too much, but I always have terrible bags under my eyes (and I know they’re not genetic). How can I get rid of them?

Oh, and while I’m at it, anyone know some cures for insomnia?
