Sleep Aid?

I haven’t been sleeping at all well lately so I tried Melatonin. That didn’t do much. My DR suggested I take Benedryl (Tylenol PM/Unisom/Any PM Product) at night and that doesn’t help either. I need some sleep. Can anyone recommend a OTC Sleep Aid?

Chlortrimiton (found in the allergy section of drugstore) can cause sleepiness, yet not leave you groggy, or feeling "hung over." It is available in 4 mg, 8 mg, and 12 mg tablets. (You mentioned having tried melatonin – that is available in 1mg and 3 mg tablets. Perhaps you took the 1 mg and need 3mg.) I have tried both and found them to be effective, without side effects. (Tylenol PM didn’t do a thing…)
All OTC sleep aids contain diphenhydramine HCL which is simply benedryl. I dont recommend taking Tylenol PM if you dont have any reason to take a pain reliever. I take 2 benedryls every night and sleep a full 8 hrs and wake up not feeling groggy. There are also tea’s you can try, one is called Sleepy time Extra. Good luck…
I’ve found working out every day helped with my sleep.
