Is melatonin a safe natural sleep aid?

I have trouble sleeping at night and was told that melatonin was a good sleep aid. But to only take the 3mg doses. I saw some 200mg doses in the store the other day and was wondering if higher doses are addictive.

A better alternative is L-tryptophan. Your body makes serotonin from tryptophan and it is then converted to melatonin. Taking tryptophan is better than melatonin because it will also promote higher serotonin levels which can assist sleep in other ways. L-tryptophan is better than 5-htp because your body can more easily use L-tryptophan to make seratonin. Take 2 in the morning and 2 before sleep. It may take 1-3 days before full effect is felt. I used to toss and turn for at least an hour before I could fall asleep and tryptophan has helped me be able to fall asleep within 20 minutes now.
I use Wild Kratom. Salvia can also help. Some use things like Ecsphoria and Black H.
No, it’s not addictive. It can stunt the growth in children apparently.
Try passiflora, valerian and 5htp as an alternative if you don’t want to take it or it doesn’t work for you.
Where do you find doses like that?’ Seriously i wanna know..
I take 3mg and that is enough, but sometimes I take more..
Addictive, I donĀ“t think so– 200mg sounds like a lot.. That is doctor-prescribed in my my country..

There is no way that there would be 200mg doses of melatonin, you would be sleeping for years. It was probably a combo that had melatonin in it, read the label properly and you’ll see.
