Is it okay to use clonazepam as a sleep aid?
I’m prescribed clonazepam for the side effects of abilify but I find I can’t sleep. Clonazepam seems to allow me to sleep but I find I’m taking more and more. Currently I’m taking my two prescribed tablets plus six for sleep and then another two during the night to get me back to sleep. Should I be worried. I’ve tried zopiclone but it seemed to have no effect.

Of course you should be worried. Clonazepam is highly addictive and a bensodiazepine addiction can be very dangerous. If you find yourself taking more and more of them, you should stop taking them at all. Talk to your prescribing doctor and ask for something for your sleeping problems that isn’t addictive instead.
I’d be more concerned about the Abilify. Do you realize it’s an atypical antipsychotic originally developed for schizophrenia and now being forced on bipolars? The side effects are horrendous as is the potential permanent damage. You are way over medicated at this point. You’re going to go to sleep one night and not wake up on all the pills you’re on. Alice is right, you’re getting addicted to clonazepam.
