Is the problem actually insomnia, or tiredness? Either way:

1) Try not to stress out too much.
2) If you can't actually sleep, then just lie in the dark and relax; it's not as good as sleep but it's still helpful.
3) Get a regular schedule established as quickly as possible, then stick to it: rise at the same time every day, meals at regular times, wind up activity and go to bed at the same time.
4) Eat regularly and properly. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and sugar.

Good luck.

have a set bedtime, and stick to it. Do not eat within an hour of this time, do only relaxing things before you go to bed, like watch tv, or read a book. If you aren't asleep within an hour, get up, have a glass of warm milk and read a book, and wait half an hour then go back to bed. It may take a few days, but your body will get back into the rhythm of sleeping at night.

The thing to consider is why you are having a change in schedule.
If you are just having difficulty falling asleep some things to try are getting rid of caffeine, no naps during the day and consuming food with high serotonin levels such as turkey; some people say warm milk helps as well.
If the problem is more serious you migh need to see a doctor for sleep medication.

Stimulus control – Stimulus control therapy derives from the idea that a person with chronic insomnia associates bedtime and the bedroom with not being able to sleep. The technique limits the amount of time spent in the bedroom for non-sleep activities to retrain the brain to associate bedtime and the bed/bedroom with successful sleep attempts rather than sleeplessness . The general guidelines of stimulus control are:

= Go to bed only when you are sleepy.
= Don’t read, watch television, eat or do other non-sleep things in bed.
= If you are not asleep within 15 minutes, leave the bedroom and don't return until you are sleepy.
= If you are awake at night for more than 15 minutes, get out of bed.
= Have a consistent wake time every day, regardless of how much sleep you got.
= Avoid naps.

That is a medicinal answer... I remember I had it once and the doctor gave me some sleeping pills.. He said that I was in a cycle and I had to break it.. so I took sleeping pills for ONLY three nights and it cured it.... then some years later, I have it all over again and to this date, I cannot get over it.

You can improve sleep dramatically by doing very basic things. However, ai some extent, medical help is required. I got this link here about sleep remedies. Maybe it will help you as well
