		<description>maybe you are taking too much. I started w/ 3mg a day, and it worked for like a week, then it quit working. Then I backed down to about 1mg a day, and I also took two calcium pills before bed (calcium bis-glycinate) and 6mg of magnesium (magnesium oxide) in a pill called &#34;bone assure&#34; by life extension before bed. This combo seems to help more. Also I don't drink for 3 hrs before bed and don't eat for 3 hrs before bed.</description>

		<description>Melatonin has a very low LD50 (concentration which caused death in 50% of test animals). So, I wouldn't be too afraid of taking more than one pill. Personally, when I used it, I took 4 and it never affected me negatively but everyone is different. Start with 2 and go from there.

If you get to the point where you're taking multiples, I would advise seeing your physician again and letting him know that you aren't getting good results with melatonin and would prefer somthing else. I would advise, if melatonin fails you, trying the non-tranquilizing sleeping pills as the tranquilizing ones are habit forming.</description>
