How can I get myself to sleep better?

I usually stay up until past midnight, but since it’s summer vacation I sleep in, but what’s a good way to help get me to sleep faster? There are constantly good shows on late, which is practically why I stay up late. Peace!

Stay out of your bed during the day.
If you don’t have a TiVo, go to your local flea market, get a VCR, and tape the shows you want to watch. It’s inexpensive, and you don’t miss anything. Also, going to sites like TV Links make it so you can just watch the shows on your own time on the internet.
Don’t eat anything a few hours before you plan on going to bed. Drink water before bed too, that is good regardless of how you are sleeping. Don’t do any physical activity at night either.
Count your breaths. 1 in, 2 out. I usually only make it to 50.
Good luck!
Turn off the TV!
relax and read a good book. take a warm bath or shower.
hey i share the same problem, I made a mix of soft songs to listen to while i try to fall asleep and that seemed to work for me
listen to the same peacefully calming music at night to get you to relax easier, then close you eyes and take deep breaths while counting to 100.
drink a glass of milk before you sleep
do some push-up to get yourself tired or even listen to relaxing and comforting music. I hope this will help you
I’ve heard that you should eat cheese before you go to sleep. Maybe some sleep herb tea. Turning off the T.V. is a good idea. Try imagining things in your mind and finding the sweet spot. I always make up a short movie in my mind before i drift to sleep.
move the tv from your bedroom and if your old enough you could have one night cap this works well then when you get a pattern of going to sleep earlier you can stop the nightcaps
Lately I’ve been drinking this mangosteen juice (www.myvemma.com/florat) it has given me more energy in the day time and a more peaceful rest when I lay down. It’s 100% natural with zero side affects. it brings the body into better health with maximizing oxyidation with mind and body balance.
Start to practice going to bed earlier now before school starts to get into a routine. Avoid caffeine after 5 PM, exercise earlier in the day, don’t do the computer too long because it will cause eyestrain and interfere with relaxing. Don’t watch any fast-paced movies that start at 9:00PM. Tape record what you miss to view during the daylight hours. Drink or eat milk products that contain sleep inducing ingredients. Read a little and take a warm shower to relax. Play soft music to ease you to sleep. Good night!!!!!
Gotta shut that TV off or turn it to CNN. If you have access to a hot tub that should work. Also, you could drink a beer or a glass of wine. Usually helps relax me.
Record your TV shows for watching earlier the next day. Make sure to use your bed only for sleeping and always go to sleep at the same time. Don’t drink caffeinated beverages or exercise after dinner. Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet and cool. If necessary you could try those over-the-counter sleep aids – they help me occassionally. Finally, you could talk to your doctor about a prescription sleep aid like Rozerem, Lunesta or Ambien. Good luck!
